Catholics say the opposite of faith is fear. And I think having faith is actually both ignorant and an attempt to run away from reality.

You would be more accurate in asking if Christians are afraid of what they can't understand. Faith is a very useful net for all the questions that cannot be answered logically. Any person who is grateful to have the ability to think and reason should be able to come to the conclusion that religion is a silly crutch and an addiction. Very similar to heroin.

Jesus founded the Nazarenes.

Paul of Tarsus and the Sadducee High Priests founded christianity
http://one-faith-of-god.org/new_testament/apocrypha/founders_christianity/founders_christianity_0010.htm

In essence Jesus taught through the gnostic texts:

+ The god of the Old testament, the "jealous god", the "vengeful god" that demanded sacrifices, that demanded blood and war was actually satan pretending to be god.

+ The true God, is the father of all things, a loving universal god who would never display willing hatred towards any of his creations.

+ The Sadducee High Priests, the religious leaders hide behind white robes and words of holiness, but in fact were evil satanists who practiced black magic and human sacrifice.

+ The way to salvation is through self knowledge and the respect of all knowledge, not the promotion of ritual and ignorance of the double speaking satanists.

Not surprisingly, christians and in particular the Vatican has taught the opposite for over 1600 years.

For example, they fail to explain how they celebrate the birth of Jesus on December 25th according to the Feast of Saturnia (aka the Roman equivelent of "satan").

They fail to properly explain why the Egyptian serpent god, the dark god "Amen" is worshipped by name during christian ceremonies.

They brush off the significance of the dark anagram Hosanna.

The entire mass of the Catholics is satanic.

The problem for many Catholics is that they become so indoctrinated, they are unable to see the truth.

What is it you feel Catholics don't understand, and why are they afraid of it? How does their faith constitute "ignorance" and "running away from reality"?

No.

Faith is both:
+ A gift of God
+ A human act

In faith, the believer:
+ Gives personal adherence to God
+ Freely assents to the truth that God has revealed

It is this revelation of God which we
+ Profess in the Creed
+ Celebrate in the sacraments
+ Live by right conduct
+ Respond to in our prayer of faith

Faith is both
+ A theological virtue given by God as grace
+ An obligation which flows from the first commandment of God

The first commandment requires us to nourish and protect our faith with prudence and vigilance, and to reject everything that is opposed to it.

There are many mysteries of faith that we freely admit we do not understand, for example: the Holy Trinity. But this does not mean that we are afraid of the Holy Trinity.

With love in Christ.

By faith we are healed Jesus said.
Galatians 3:26 says,
For you are all the children of God, by faith in Jesus Christ.
28: says There is neither Jew or Greek or servant of free person ,male or female who is not Christ's. You are all one in Christ.
29: If you are Christ's, then you are also seed of Abraham and heirs to the kingdom according to the promise of God to Abraham. Faith is also belief and trust in that which is unseen.
It is not an attempt to run away but our choice to unite with God our father who we realize as a positive possibility over the negative side of non-belief.

The opposite of faith is unbelief. The opposite of trust is fear.

Faith should be the result of evaluating the evidence and coming to a conclusion. When I get in my car and drive over a bridge I have faith that the car isn't going to explode and the bridge isn't going to collapse. But that's not because my faith is completely blind. Instead, I know that I've maintained the car properly and that thousands of people pass over the well-built bridge every day.

If I went to my garage and my car was on fire and I got in and drove it across the bridge, well that's not "faith" that's "stupidity". Similarly if I looked at the bridge and the supports were collapsing or bending under the load and I went across anyway, that's just dumb.

So faith is built on knowledge and reason. It's an acknowledgement that we can't know everything, but we know enough. I don't know exactly how God is going to redeem me but I have enough evidence to suggest that Jesus was who he claimed to be and that his teaching was true to suggest that I can trust him to save me.

We all believe in something; we need a way of understanding our worlds. Some of us are more rational than others when it comes to deciding what beliefs will guide us.

In my opinion, people who subscribe to religious dogma feel the need to make their world black and white, to divide it into good and evil, to have straight lines that tell them what do do and what not to do, to tell them what is okay and what isn't and they want to give the responsibility of their actions to someone else.

Ignorant and weak about sums this up.

idk...i often wonder...ppl say religions were created as a way to escape reality that the world is harsh and that when we die, there is no more...ppl don't want to accept that hard, cold cold truth...but some say that God is real, and we must believe...afterall, the world could not just have happened, right? something had to create it...or someone...God...? but then who created him??? and on and on...we will NEVER know...that is one thing we as humans will never be capable of understanding no matter what...and maybe if there is a God, he made it that way, and that would make sense that we cannot understand it...it is above us, as is God...or maybe we really do just want to escape reality...idk???

When I was a Catholic growing up, I was afraid of everything. I was afraid of God, Hell, demons, and death. For me, faith caused fear.
