Most pet stores sell doggie diapers. You will probably need an extra small size. Then, you will need to put a thin pad, (cut in half to fit), inside the diaper. I would suggest if you are not spaying her for any reason that you have at least 2 diapers on hand because they tend to have accidents when they are in heat.
If you are unable to find a doggie diaper you can buy a regular package of baby diapers, probably premie of newborn and simply cut a hole in the back for her tail to go through.
If you are planning to show or breed her at some point, make sure you are with her every moment she is outside. Male dogs can smell her from blocks away and will do anything to get into your yard. If you are not showing or breeding her in the future, please get her spayed. It prevents unwanted litters and protects against certain cancers.
Also during this time she may act a little different and have more accidents in the house. Just try to forgive any as this will pass when the heat is over, approximately 3 weeks in total.
Good luck!

Yo can try doggy diapers or you may need to keep her in a crate or one room. I have found that a lot of dogs won't keep the diapers on or tehy are so scared withit tehy don't move.
You will notice about 1 week of bleeding tehn it gets clear this is the time they are acceptable to malesfor a week and then anohter week of bleeding.
I would strongly suggest getting her spayed in about 4 weeks to make sure she is over her heat.
Otherwise expect this every 6 months or so.

there is a product called Scooty pants. they are less bulky than a diaper and the dog tends to keep them on better. they are cloth and you just cut a pad or panty liner and put it inside. they work wonders. After the heat the best thing to do would be to get the dog spayed if you are not planning on breading.

The ONLY tip is get her spayed so you don't have to worry about that happening again.
The other things you can fo in the mean time is get doggy diapers for her or isolate her to an area for the next 3 weeks where the mess can be cleaned up easily.
If you don't want to deal with the mess...DON'T have an unspayed female dog!!! be a RESPONSIBLE pet owner!!!

reasons to spay http://www.thepetcenter.com/sur/sp.html

spay her before she has a chance to go into heat again the odds of mammary cancer increases a alot if she is allowed to go into heat again
--------------
MAMMARY CANCER

A female dog spayed before her first heat will have a near zero chance of developing mammary cancer. After the first heat, this incidence climbs to 7% and after the second heat the risk is 25% (one in four!). It is easy to see that an early spay can completely prevent what is frequently a very difficult and potentially fatal form of cancer.

But is it too late if a dog is already past her second heat? No, in fact spaying is important even in female dogs who already have obvious tumors. This is because many mammary tumors are stimulated by estrogens; removing the ovaries, the source of estrogens, will help retard tumor spread.

Spaying removes both the uterus and both ovaries and is crucial in the prevention as well as the treatment of mammary cancer.

Some people suggest doggie diapers.
You should have the dog spayed as soon as her heat is over and that will end the messy, bloody heat cycles.
