Hi guys. I am tring to obtain my drivers licence for the first time. I just turnned 18 in April. I need to know if I would need a drivers licence for at least a year before I can drive out of state. I currently live in the state of Connecticut with my parents but I am plainng to visit Florida for part of my summer (this means I would need a rental car). I am also in the process of making an appointment for a drivers test. I need to know what the state says about when you can legally drive out of state. My friend said that he heard you need to have the licence for at least a year before you can drive out of state. I am not sure of that. My Florida trip is at the end of July (last weekish)

Pleas help. Thanks a lot- John.

John, your friend does not know what he/she is talking about, You get a license in one state, is is honored by all other 49 states.....However...Before leaving my home State, I would wait for the PERMANENT License to arrive by mail. as it will be picture I.D.

When you have a driver's license, you can drive in any state. You probably will not be able to rent a car in Florida. Rental companies usually only rent to people over age 25.

Once you have a full license there is absolutely no restriction as to where you can drive. However, most rental agencies will not rent a vehicle to someone your age, you need to be 26 or over to rent, although some will rent at 24 or over, neither of which will help you at age 18.

It would not provide up them from using, they proceed to accomplish that, or get themselves a pretend license to apply for identity purposes. there is been greater then sufficient thoughts interior the information approximately them killing human beings on the same time as they're using drunk or in spite of. i think the form you place it, that's clever to a factor, there is no "incentive" for them to not force-because they're here criminally/illegally besides, so what's the version in the event that they force illegally besides? even though, once you're insinuating giving them a license, i don't trust that. it is merely approximately like effective them for their criminal strikes. And, i in my opinion do not think of that should furnish them an incentive to purchase coverage the two. Plus, whether you probably did grant them the privledge of having a license, i think of they had be too scared to pass in and get the stable license, for concern of being deported, which they ought to be..... yet it is an entire different subject count :)

I don't think that's entirely true. But what you should look out for is your ability to rent a car. At 18, with no driving history, it might be really hard for you to get one.
