can we interchange the detergents for top loading and front loading machines

front loaders mix air and water more than a top loader so detergents froth up more in front loaders. So detergents for front loaders are designed to froth less. You can use less detergent to do this but then there is less detergent molecules to bond fats and oils and dirt to water so it may not clean as well. Better to use a low frothing detergent designed for a front loader

I once put a half of a cup of dish washing detergent into a front loading washer. I mopped suds for 2 hours. Ha!Ha!

Same detergent, just a LOT less in a front-loader -- like 1/4th as much as a top-loader.
