If God created all things then evil must have come from him as well which would mean he is not all good. If evil came from elsewhere then God did not create all things.

SATAN. (that's what they'll say). that or free will.

but. 2 things.
1) if satan created evil, and god created satan, then by the transitive property, god created evil
2) if evil is a product of man's free will, then this is also god's fault because he gave man free will, and being omnipotent and omniscient, he would have known full well what they were going to do

I totally see your logic, in this and it kind of works when you put it like that, but it's not as simple (I don't think...i might be wrong). Say it's like, God created everything as good (He may or may not have done, but you know, hypothetically). and instead of saying, right, it's going to stay good, im going to run a perfect world, He said, right, let's give everything a chance. It can go either way. And then obviously it did. So in a way, it came from Him...but in another way, maybe it didn't. It's llike a newborn baby, when it's born, there is no evil, but inevitably, it develops. Also, from the other view, maybe God didn't create evil. God had to come from somewhere, so maybe for all time there has been evil co-existing with that. Maybe He could get rid of it if he wanted, but doesn't choose to.
Basically I think what I'm saying is, does it matter? Evil exists, but I think God created all things as well. It's hard for us to work out because there are certain limits on how we understand things - like we think within the boundaries of what we know. Something blocks it out when we try and comprehend a time before the world/universe/space and eveerything existed. Basically, either explanation could be plausible, but I guess we'll have to wait and see though...whether or not God created it, I don't think it impacts that much.

...phew...what a ramble...

Evil existed from the beginning when the heavens were full of angels Job 38:4-7; they see the ages old earth prepared ages of time with God [ as day 1 to 6 ]; to all is perfect. Perfect man is created Gen.1:26; then all is LOST.
Gen.3:22; Man became as God and Jesus to know good from evil.
Gen.8:21; Evil became the rule from youth. Jesus is proof that evil can be over come and his apostles are as well.

According to the Story of Job all things, good and evil come from God. After the Babylonian Exile and the meeting of Judaism and Zoroastrianist dualism, the Jews adopted the idea that there was an Adversary which was responsible for the evil in the world

That is a question that has puzzled philosophers and theologians for centuries, and no one has come up with an answer that is totally satisfactory as far as I know.

Some things believers know: God is all-good and infinitely perfect. He cannot be the cause of evil. However, evil itself needs some definition. There are physical happenings which we call evil because they are destructive -- like earthquakes and severe storms. But that is part of the universe and it cannot be any other way if the earth and natural laws are to exist as we know them.

There is also moral evil. But moral evil comes from the wickedness of human beings who have the freedom to choose good or evil. From the very beginning there have been moral evils -- from the story of Cain to local and world wars. Such evil begins in the mind of man -- pride, covetousness, anger, envy, lust, etc. When someone wants what s/he wants no matter what, moral evil will exist.

One of the perfections of being human is the ability to freely choose for oneself. That perfection has its downside in that a free person may choose to do and/or foment evil things. But free will itself is good. It can lead to love, benevolence, philanthropy, etc. So are physical laws good in themselves, since they can bring rain to crops, bring electricity, mechanical helps, etc.

Evil is simply our turning from God, and making our own world, our own life. We did this out of fear...the sense that God was no longer our loving Creator...but God remains; thus, we remain as created. "All Good" means just that. Evil is illusion. There is God, and everything God creates. Only this.

Nothing unreal exists.

The bible says in

Isaiah 45:6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.

Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and CREATE EVIL: I the LORD do all these things.

christians will say free will, but they don't understand that if he did create free will he created evil, just like you sue a pet owner because the pet attacked someone you don't sue the pet. if god was real he wouldn't have created free will, and you wouldn't have minded that he didn't either, neither would i, in fact no one would; because they would not be allowed to think or know free will which would be ok for me. there would be no way to rebel, and you wouldn't want to, now that sounds perfect to me, isn't it funny how a mere human like me came up with a better hypothesis for creating a multiverse and a humanity.

Evil is simply the absence of good. Just as technically cold does not exist and is really just the absence of heat and darkness the absence of light, evil is the absence of God. He did not create it. It is just the word we use to describe times and issues that he is not present in.

The bible says that Satan Made himself evil by challenging Gods ability to rule mankind. Satan is one of God's angels. He is not nearly as powerful as God.Satan knows he can not defeat the almighty. So He has called out God as ruler over humanity. He told Adam and Eve if they ate the forbidden fruit , not only would they NOT die(the first lie)but, they would be just like God. So what happened, They died because they chose to defy God's rules. As a result all of mankind sin and die,so God sent out his very first creation Jesus to save our souls.
