My guinea pig has been staggering around, and won't eat a whole lot. She's just been laying around, very lethargic. I have a vet appointment for Monday. Any ideas? Anyone ever experience this? Just trying to put my mind at ease.

Those are some serious signs that something is majorly wrong. http://www.guinealynx.info/health.html I say she needs to get to the vet NOW, even if you have to go to an emergency vet. Otherwise, she may not make it to Monday.
I could be a number of things from an ear infection to something to do with the brain. If she isn't eating or drinking you have got to handfeed her http://www.guinealynx.info/handfeeding.html .

Do you know if she has lost any weight? It is a good idea to keep track of their weight as this can tell you how serious it is.
Guinea pigs go lethargic for most illnesses so it could be anything really.

You are doing all you can by going to the vet. I've got to see the vet on Monday too because my piggy has a swollen jaw. Look on www.guinealynx.com ... if you type the symptoms into the Search box it may tell you what she has.

Good luck at the vets!

at the beginning, something like canines bounce authentic into issues and want to locate, so using a harness/leash serves a functional needed. Guinea pigs should not be taken out in any respect. they're prey animals, so by means of nature somewhat timid of each and everything until you provide them time to get to understand that that's risk-free. and whether you probably did attempt to tug a guinea pig around the block, that's going to be too terrified to stroll conveniently. Guinea pigs conceal whilst they're scared, and once you keep them in an open section, they'll jolt a run. This leaves the large threat of them slippin out of the harness, getting remote from you, and you on no account finding them, because of the fact shall we face it, it won't come once you call it. yet besides, once you have it hooked onto a halter, and that's scared sufficient to apply finished power to run, it could actually crush its rib cage. If not that severe, it ought to choke itself or pose yet another harm. Similarily, once you have a lead attatched to a small animal, you're greater apt to pulling too not elementary withou even understanding it, once you at the instant are not paying interest, which could additionally reason harm. the hollow ingredient is extremely stressful, so avert it. in case you want to take them exterior, you will first desire a grassy section you realize has not insecticides on it, and placed them in a small animal pen, with some hiding packing containers. Then they could locate on their very own words and proceed to be risk-free.

If she's not eating, I'd try to get the vet to see you earlier. It may be an emergency.

Sounds like she may have had a stroke, possibly.

If you absolutely can't get her there until Monday, I'd make sure she's at least drinking. Try giving her some sweeter "tastier" foods to encourage her to eat, such as fruits, vegetables, yogies, and such.

I hope she's okay.

Is she dehydrated? My dog gets all dingy when he doesn't get enough to drink.
