to judge atheists, christians, religion, etc etc, by the mistakes that others have made in the past or a few bad apples have made in the present?

There are very good people in all groups. To judge someone collectively as a group instead of indiviually is ignorant and narrowminded. What say you?

Amen, Kaliko. I agree wholeheartedly.

Sadly, before I can finish typing this answer someone will likely post another question stereotyping everyone in some group based on past mistakes. People just can't seem to help themselves.

I'm judging them on the mistakes they are making today. And it's a very good idea to be aware of history. Especially, Christians' history, they make the same mistakes over and over. No atheists have killed, tortured people in the name of atheism but none of the Judeo-Christian-Islamic religions can say that. So when these groups stop acting like narrow-minded ninnies, maybe people will stop calling them that. How many times throughout history have Christians tried to wipe out a minority while blaming them for "moral decay of society?

And given how Christians have a demonstrated history of lumping groups of people together for persecution's sake, I'd think we be wise to watch them closely. Do I even need to point out how Christians are constantly making wild claims about homosexuals today? Now who's judging a group collectively again?

Agreed. "A little leaven, leavens the whole lump"(This is unfortunate)

A tiny bit of wrong can ruin it for the entire group's appearance.
The inverse is also true....Just because Kaliko is so pretty, does not mean that all Christians are that good looking.
Also Christians should not be flirting with a married woman....maybe I need to repent lol

Please do not give me best answer,as that would be unfair now.

Yes it is narrow-minded to lump all peoples together under one label without looking at them individually.

I will say what I do and do not like or believe in when it comes to any religion and what that religion contains. What I won't do is tell someone they cannot practice it or are stupid, unintelligent etc for doing so as one, it is rude and two it is not my business to interfere as such.

Yes it is narrow minded and I personally would much prefer to remain open minded to people. Differences in ideas and thoughts challenge us....we would never grow spiritually or mentally if we only stayed in our comfort zone. I already know what I agree with.... I like the idea that there is an idea out there I have never heard of before that can help me grow spiritually...even if it shows me where I do not want to go...
Peace be with you.

Nothing to add but a star. Judging anyone by the actions of another is merely a strawman.

No good and bad are subjective terms. After studying lots of history I've come to the conclusion that the human race is a waste of time, space and skin. Imagine here we have a supposedly intelligent species that relies on faith and belief rather than use their brains and think. Pathetic.

i think its wrong to judge anyone. everyone has the right to believe in what they want. just because they are a different color or different religion doesnt make them any better or worse than any one else. who are we to judge. thats not what we are here for. have a good day.

Righ!!....BUT those "exclusive few ones" who pride themselves *so much* on their *intelligence* of not believing in anything, deserve each an every letter on the terms "ignorant and narrow-minded" for not being able to realize that all of us have the right to believe or not the way we want, and it's not their damn business.

I can only speak for myself, not nonbelievers as a whole.
I try not to stereotype, but sometimes I do without thinking about it. Again, mistakes.
