Questions like this make me feel slightly sick. All I can hope is that you are young enough or smart enough to realise that while Bush might hide behind fundamental christianity as an excure for the war (and OH HE DOES - I belive he has referred to the war in Iraq as a CRUSADE) this is not the reason why the USA has invaded (yet again) another country that posed minimal threat (despite what you may hear on US news - try watching BBC news 24 every so often and getting a bigger picture). There are many reason why Bush has invaded. These include oil (yes - make the rich man richer) or just the need to flex some superpower muscles and gain a bit of history. However, it sickens me that people have the attitude that one religion is better than the other and the reason people are killed and injured in wars is becase 'their faith was not strong enough'. So what - some people pracise a different religion from you. Does this now mean Bush/USA is going to next invade India? Nepal? China (yeah right)? Thailand? Russia? Nigeria? Tansania? The UK? There are many religions and I'd like someone to tell me what gives the Bush Administration the right to invade another country on the basis of religion. Yes, fundamentalists from other religions are making themselves heard, perhaps in the only way they know and in ways that are wrong on all levels (hey - someone has to put the 'mental' into fundamental) but why lower yourself to thier level? To specifically answer your question - NO - people do not lose limbs becasue their faith wasn't strong enough. They lose limbs becasue their governments have involved them in some *beep* war and probably didn't provide them with adequate safety equiptment becasue that would cost MONEY. Jesus taught in the bible that God is an all forgiving entity, and all sins are forgiven (i'm not a catholic or christian by the way but I DO know the bible). We are just the poor pawns in a war that we will never know the full extent of, nor the extent governments will go to to gain their own end. May God, Allah, Jehovah or whoever else is listening, help us ALL.

1) Great example!

2) God is perfect. And so is His Word.

3) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word became flesh. Your definition of free will is unbiblical.

4) Nobody has shown that error yet...after 2000 years of scutiny. Keep trying.

5) We agree here.

6) Again, this is not in the Bible. It's hard to answer your questions when I cannot even relate to the descriptions being used to identify my beliefs in the questions being asked. Define free will, please. Since many have different ideas of what real free will is. True freedom, freedom in the Biblical sense, is the liberty to obey God without restraint, without sin standing in the way.--- Sin enslaves and destroys.

7) Your point is?.....

8) Correct, nor did He. More specifically, the Law is a reflection of His nature. Don't forget that Holiness and Justise are part of His nature also.

9) Who said he was? Oh, the terrorists did. But for us, justice, protecting ourselves, and defending the innocent can.

And if there be any evil mixed in with the answer to #9 on our part. Joseph replied to His brothers who sold him into slavery..."You meant it for evil, God meant it for Good". God allows evil, never for it's own sake, but because he has a greater good in mind for it's end. Man is judged for his part.

Hope this helps...

BTW

"I can get there in an easier way:

THOU SHALT NOT KILL"

As in murder. That's what the word means in the original; languages.

1 To everything there is a season,

A time for every purpose under heaven:
2 A time to be born,
And a time to die;
A time to plant,
And a time to pluck what is planted;
3 ***A time to kill,
And a time to heal;***
A time to break down,
And a time to build up;
4 A time to weep,
And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
And a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones,
And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace,
And a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to gain,
And a time to lose;
A time to keep,
And a time to throw away;
7 A time to tear,
And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
And a time to speak;
8 A time to love,
And a time to hate;
*****A time of war,
And a time of peace.*****

War is a collective failure of our species, and in some measure we should all be repentent of it. Individually we may not all start wars. We may not even be the ones who voted for politicians that do start them, and of the forty some wars in the world, there are many most of us have not even heard of.

However change can only start with the decision of one person, one individual, to change.

"Going up to a low wall, pointed to some little white flowers, like lilies in miniature, and plucking one of them, [my father] gave it to me explaining the care with which God brought it into being and preserved it to that very day. While I listened I believed I was hearing my own story, so great was the resemblance between what Jesus had done for the little flower and [me]." (St. Therese of Lisieux)

I've always liked the words of the late Pope on this:

"Yet everything can change. It depends on each of us. Everyone can develop within himself his potential for faith, for honesty, for respect of others and for commitment to the service of others....

War is not always inevitable. It is always a defeat for humanity. International law, honest dialogue, solidarity between States, the noble exercise of diplomacy: these are methods worthy of individuals and nations in resolving their differences....

It is therefore possible to change the course of events, once good will, trust in others, fidelity to commitments and cooperation between responsible partners are allowed to prevail"

You are preaching to the choir here.

And I really hope people don't say that the Bible says you must obey the laws and government of the land. After all, we have the power to change those laws, policies, and elected officials that have been corrupted.

i grew up going to a christian school, and my belief in god is soooo not strong.

but i do believe that the war is a mortal sin, waste of time, and so many hot marines are over there for no f*ckin' apparent reason.

just like the over-population in africa, we should've pulled out along time ago =)

Just like Satan to influence someone to come on here and spread this type of manure. Your point #5 is the only truth in your whole rant.

Give specifics, i.e., How is the liberation of Iraq a sin, since that is the focal point of this dreg?

In your opinion, the US war is a mortal sin...However, I just don't see it. Saddam was a quitier version of Adolf Hitler, just waiting to come out (which I assume you already have), and we stoped him. You know, here's a little something for you to think about. If those over their would stop shooting at our troops, they would stop firing back, infact, after Saddam was taken in, we would've left. It takes two (or more) to fight. And if it really is a crime, then ALL THOSE THAT VOTED FOR IT SHOULD BE JAILED! ALL ALL ALL. (to include most of the democratic presidental runners).

God does not exist.

The war in Iraq is wrong, and there doesn't need to be a 'God' for that to be the case.
