When people are asking for a dog free or cheaply, I worry that if they can't afford to pay for the dog, they can't afford the vets bills that will inevitably come with it. Obviously you can insure but this will set you back £25 a month with an excess of around £50-£100. Please make sure you can pay these bills.

No dogs are free.
You can go to your local animal rescue & pay a donation amount varies.
Did you know Northern Ireland has the most stray/abandonded dogs etc compared with the rest of the world? So there should be a lot to choose from in your area.
Small dogs are hard to come by, people get rid of the medium+ breeds & the older animals.

It would be great if you could adopt an animal from either of the places listed below as they are all looking for homes, & even though you can only pick one, there are a few small ones for you to choose mainly cross breeds but some of them are puppies which would be very pleased to go to a loving home.

If you're after a free or inexpensive dog, think very carefully about whether you can afford to keep a dog. They are costly in food, vaccinations and other possible vet bills. It would be gross negligence to get an animal without thinking about up to 15 years of having to fork out for all these things.

Ask around. People are always giving away puppies. And there is no such thing as a free dog.

I think your best thing to do is to look round at the rescue centres in your area.

Check your local animal shelters... there are usually a diamond in the rough there.

Please go check your local shelter, pound or animal rescue. They have wonderful dogs that need to be adopted and taken care of, so they won't be euthanized!
