A kennel is the best thing I ever did... Don't worry about her voice she's like a child she can see that your worried and she's taking advantage. Be stern tell her no in your serious voice. When she gets louder or weird get more serious... It's amazing how they act just like children seeing how far they can go before you give in... They are so smart if you give in they know they can make more and more noise... and eventually you'll cave. I know how frustrating it can be especially at night. Mine were trained real young but they love their crates. I call it their house, when they are in trouble I say go get in your house and they do... They also just lay in them when ever they want, they love them. Good Luck!

How long have you been trying? If you've just started, she may still be getting used to the routine and she is trying to get your attention. The main thing is to not acknowledge or reward all the barking and noise. Ignore it and eventually she will stop. Only listen to it if you think she is telling you she needs out to go potty. And don't keep her in the crate longer than recommended and only use it when you can't supervise her. No need to crate her if you are there to watch her. Be patient - I know it's annoying, but eventually it should stop.

This is a good website on crate training that may help.

Those who put down crate training have either never tried it or did it wrong. It works really well and is not cruel.

She does not want to be in the kennel, so she whines, barks and will do anything to get you to let her out. I go through this from time to time with our foster dogs. Does she have toys to chew on while in the kennel? That might help some. In time she will learn that this is her personal home and she will learn to adapt to it and be quiet. Best thing to do is after you know she needs nothing else, just ignore her (easier said than done, I know) and she will calm down. No she will not wear out her voice. Good Luck, I know this can be annoying.

She needs some time OUT of the crate or kennel.
Is the kennel out of doors? Is the kennel a place for her to be able to run free within the confines of a fence? Then it IS a kennel. But she wants your time and attention some as well, and it sounds like you're putting her in the kennel too much of the time and not playing with her or walking her or exercising her.

I have never crate trained my dog, although she likes to sleep in her crate. I literally took the laundry room which has nothing to chew on excpet walls... (which she has chewed on!!) and her toys. I put her crate in there, food, water etc. She whines only when she hears people moving in the house and its a lot bigger than a crate. I keep her in there as little as possible. Only at night, after she puts herself in there do I shut the door, and when I leave for class or work. So far it has worked out really well. If you have the space maybe you should try something like that.

The only thing you can do is ignore it. Dogs CAN get laryngitis (losing her voice) from barking but it's not common. If you let the dog out when she is making any complaint, she is going to keep doing it because she knows you will let her out when she complains. Wait until she stops making ANY noise and then reward her with a treat when you let her out. Give her a treat when she goes in the crate too. Don't give her any attention as long as she is complaining.

It is a very inhygenic habit of potty eating so what u should try to do is take her for a walk atleast thrice a day ,so that she doesnt miss u.And she could also be hygenic.......u know.I guess she barks to just gain some attention from u & maybe your family.

Don't worry. She is probably not used to being left alone for a long amount of time. I had to teach my dog how to quit barking at night. Whenever he would start, he would bark for a really long time. We finally just didn't go outside to check on him. And then he finally just got quiet one night. I guess he realized its not worth it to bark all night.

when the dog is actin like that DO NOT yell at her and don't give her any attention. she will get use to it.

if you yell then you're responding to her and she'll remember that she recieved attention by making noise... and continue.

just ignore her. she won't hurt her voice.

No one likes to be locked up. Stop putting the dog in the kennel. And learn to train her without locking her up or give up the dog to someone who will not cage her.
