Is simple. EAt less and burn more.
You simply have to burn more calories than what you ingest or take in.
If you don't then you won't loose the weight.

you first need to find out your ideal body weight (it is a range and you decide where you want to be) then you find the basic energy expenditure for your weight and the amount of calories that you need and eat that amount, that simple you eat more calories you gain wt you eat less you loose weight
