To play Devil's advocate here: If Judaism,Christianity and Islam are to be believed then God is a unique divine being and we are creatures He has made, even if through evolution.Does He ever get lonely for others of His kind? What can we give Him or make for Him that He really needs even if He might love us for loving Him? If there's no God we'd still have each other but God's situation is like being abandoned on a desert island and never seeing another human again and only having the work of your hands to keep you busy - this would be God's work as Creator but no creature would be His equal or truly like Him.I could be wrong and probably am - just something that struck me as odd.

He has Jesus and the Holy Spirit. All the angels and saints.

But no, I do not think he gets lonely. He is not us...he is not subject to human frailties and needs.

I for one am not the kind to get lonely.

I for one am not the kind to get bored.

Life is good, at its worst and worst Gen.8:21; and we're in sin with a life short and full of trouble [ to handle and keep one busy ], and work toward making it as Jesus did, Philip.2:5.9-12; We have to face Jesus 2Cor.5:10; for us and him to understand how we tried.

God rest from creating, not working, Rev.5:11; the heavens are filled with angels that all through the bible have work to do
and Heb.1:1-13; explains alot of it, Matt.25:31-34; does as well, and Revelations has the angels and Jesus and God very busy, so no I do not thing God has time to get lonely.
John 17:3,5,24; Col.1:15-17; Rev.3:14; Jesus is first creation created in his image, Matt.3:16,17; 16:16,17; In heaven or on earth except at Acts 2:27-31; Jesus has always been with him, Job 38:4-7; the angels see the ages old existing earth prepared ages to perfect, then perfect man Gen.1:26; then man loses eternal life, and the life sustaining earth is lost in the flood. After God rest from creating is over, 2Pet.3:13; Isa.65:17; 66:1,22,23; Rev.20:1-6,12,13; 1Cor.15:22-28,51-53; Rev.21:1-5; All is made as new as it was before Eden.

If you believe in a Trinitarian God, then the answer is: "No, God was not lonely before He began His Creational Activity." Since He exists in Three Divine Persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Where was Mrs. God? The New Testaments tell us: "Pneuma Ho Theos," which means, "God is Spirit." Spirits have no gender. Woman was created to be Man's companion and help mate. Apparently God Himself had no such need. However, I personally am eternally grateful that God in His infinite wisdom was so considerate of His creation. Happy New Year! H

Well if you believe as i do that The Godhead is made up of Father Son and Holy Spirit..this is what i see...
When God sent Jesus to live among us He (Jesus) was in human form..and yes He did feel lonely. If you read the gospels Jesus experienced the same feelings we do..sadness, loneliness, anger, happiness, and so on..so God knows how we feel.
In James ch4 we read the Holy Spirit (the 3rd part of the Godhead) yearns over us with a jealous love: so the Holy Spirit yearns...God the Father is like any other Father who loves and adores his children. So all 3 parts of the Trinity know exactly how we feel. There are many aspects of God...
God created us to be in fellowship with Him.
Hope this makes some sense to you...
~~Shalom~~ : x )

God says i should tell u He never gets tired/lonely, He made the whole universe with His hands!and by Him all things made,
if He were lonely he ll create anything He wanted to create to keep Himself Company.
remember God is not man and trying to comprehend God is like trying to empty up an ocean with a spoon.
just worship Him in spirit and truth and not question His existence. for he said that even if man ll not serve him he ll makes stones to serve Him so in fact you have everything to gain by serving him and believing Him.

thanks

I know you're only joking, but if he did exist, then I think he would be lonely and disappointed. Because...

He would be bored to tears with the people around him in heaven. All the bowing and scraping, all the bodies prostrating themselves before him, all the worship and kissing the hem of his robe. Then first thing every morning there would be another batch fresh up from the obesity factory, waiting to tell him how wonderful he is..

Would serve him right.

the answer is in the mystery of the trinity. God is 3 in one, the father, the son, and the holy spirit. He has perfect fellowship with these, since before our time began, and has no need of us humans. That's another mystery, why he loves us so much. I guess it's like a mother love- I would die for my children, just as God would (did) die for his.

If "he" does, it would be a very simple matter for "him" to attend a baseball game, invisibly of course. Or he could go to a party, and just kind of occupy the airspace......invisibly of course. So, if "he" is lonely, it's his own fault. In my opinion, after all the violence that was done on his behalf, and vividly described in the bible, he deserves to be lonely.

God has feelings , he was lonely ,and that is why He made us, He loves us and wants us to love Him back. He longs for that. We, who truly love Him, have a relationship with Him and I believe that He is ok with that.

I don't know whether God gets lonely or not. I don't sense that in Him...although I have never asked Him about it. I have sensed however that He is not alone...although I do not know what position the other or others might hold.
