If there was no devine intervention then wouldn't monkeys be the closest animal to a man. Some of us are big like gorillias, and some are like chimpanzees. Just wondering what which you are more alike.

I didn't evolve from anything or anyone. Neither did you, nor did any living thing anywhere.

Go back through my family line far enough, and you'll start seeing biological differences. Keep going farther and farther, and you'll find that my ancestors were primates in the savannah, walking upright to get a better view (but they weren't monkeys). Go back farther, and a different type of primate, with he and his fellows were spending much of their time in trees (but they weren't monkeys). Go back really far, and you'll see a tiny little furry creature about the size of a shrew, fighting off the viciously cold weather in the wake of a meteorite impact. She's my great, great.... great-grandmother.

You can keep going back farther and farther. But none of these animals evolved. Rather, their descendents had certain changes, down to the genetic level, that made them unlike their parents in certain ways. Some of those changes are irrelevant (such as alu insertions). Some are harmful. But others confer advantages that give that child, and his descendants, tangible benefits in the competition over resources in a wild, dangerous world.

we didn't evolve from monkeys. Monkeys and humans evolved from a common ancestor which is now extinct. hence why we are both primates, but are quite different developmentally. If you bothered to learn about evolution, you might have known that and prevented this lovely instance of looking like an idiot.

Firstly, neither gorillas nor chimpanzees are monkeys. Secondly, the theory of evolution doesn't suggest that we evolved from any modern animal.

I think we are most like Bonobos.

If you think it is a putdown to be compared to another member of the Primate family, I would point out to you that monkeys have never tried to systematicall extinguish 6 million monkeys because they belonged to another tribe. Monkeys have never dilligently worked to produce a thermonuclear device which they then used to incinerate hundreds of thousands of rival moneys. Monkeys have never ensaved other monkeys of their own species because they had different skin pigmentation.

If anything we are an insult to our fellow primates.

Man and ape evolved from the same ancestor. We didn't evolve from monkeys or apes.

And just to be clear - just because we're atheists doesn't mean we have to believe in evolution. They aren't mutually exclusive. Many Christians believe in evolution as well, citing that god did it.

See you're just showing your ignorance

Humans didn't evolve from monkey and evolution doesn't say they did

We have the same ancestor as monkeys.

It is questions like these that I begin to think that apes evolved from men. They are much more sophistcated than the person asking this question.

Where did you get this bizarre information? It seems like someone needs a serious lesson in evolution.

Science doesn't say we came from monkeys. Go learn what it actually says.
