true but I wouldn't usually say yo. tengo basically includes yo without it having to be written or said

Verbally, the "yo tengo" is the correct conjugation, but "yo tengo" does not have a full grammatical statement:

"Yo lo tengo." --> I have it

You will need an object. For example, you can't say, "Te agradezco," you must say, "Te lo agradezco"

etc.
