my wife is just over two months pregnant and along with her horrible morning sickness she has been having terrible pain in her left shoulder. there is no swelling and when she moves it there is no pain,only when she lays on that side(left) does she have issues.
we have been to the doctor and they did blood tests x-rays(they loaded her up like a roman soldier with lead shields) etc and said she must have just strained it during her dry heaves. i dont think so, i have pulled muscles from dry heaving from when i was sick or i had too much to drink but ive never been in the pain she is in.
what gives?
any ideas?

shoulder pain has many reasons, like muscle cramps , chronic musle cramps, tendons of the sholder are sensitive to strain too ... some times ... there is a pain in the Tip of the LEFT shoulder and its nature is not from the shoulder but else where is alled Reffered pain ...
and maybe ... becasue she is pregnant and she is having morning sickness and sometimes vomitting ... so ... this pain maybe is due to excessive muscle contraction of the chest wall and irritation of the throught ... and also ... if she has simple chest infection ... this is propably the cause
and as she is a pregnant so she can only take Panadol 1gm / 4 times or in need ... good muscle relaxation and massage ... and warm drinks like tea, milk ... etc ...
so ... i think its not a serious problem

never the less ... its better to seek the advise of a proffesional gynecologist in addition to iternal medicine and an orthopedic so they will decide ...

with my kindest regards and wishes of good health

Exactly what it's sincere and prematurely. I have a dependancy of slumbering with my arm tucked below my pillow and sure the shoulder hurts often while I rise up, only a truth of aging together with different aches and pains, whats up the frame does put on out, believe me I realize. Accept that truth and transfer on

Your wife is going to have to stop laying on her left side. Placing pressure for many hours on the shoulder could be the reason for the pain. She needs to try sleeping on her back because this keeps the spine in the proper alignment. She can place a pillow or cushion under her knees to make her more comfortable on her back.

I'm definitely not a doctor but I wondered if it could be transferred/referred pain from her uterus. I know people with ectopic pregnancies,endometriosis and period pain can have transferred pain into their shoulders so maybe a normal pregnancy can have similar effects... just a thought. Heartburn also could be a possibility. Hope she picks up soon (c;
