Everyone here wants to "see" themselves but isn't it funny that when you look at the mirror you really don't see yourself-Only A Reflection?

Having a mirror does not mean one is vain, just like having a garage does not mean one is a mechanic, and just like going to church does not mean one is religious.

We have mirrors in our houses for us to know if we look appropriate as ourselves. It does not mean that when one looks at the mirror, he/she is vain. It all depends on why the person looked at the mirror. Is it because he/she feels there is something wrong with his/her face? Nobody wants to be a laughing stock if there is something funny on one's face. It is embarrassing.
Most importantly, it is said in the bible to take care of your own body for it is the temple of God. Looking good for one's own benefit is vanity. But looking good for God is not vain; it is a way for Christians to earn other people's trust and become role models.
By the way, you are also tempting a person to mock or laugh at you when you do not remove that funny thing on your face or if your face looks terrible. So be a responsible Christian for God.

Some religious orders do not permit mirrors for that very reason.

There is a difference between making sure you don't have spinach in your teeth when you go to a job interview, and staring lovingly at yourself for hours. It is a matter of intent and degree, not the mirror.

It all depends on what you are thinking, when you look in the mirror. If you look to see if your clothes are on right etc. I would not call that pride! What if you thought you sat on something and looked in the mirror!

I think my dog is committing a sin, because he spends a lot of time staring at himself in the mirror (no lie.)

Well, would you like to go out in public with say spinach stuck between your teeth? I know that I don't and a mirror is a good way to make sure I don't.

Pride is being "puffed up." If you have a problem with self-adoration, rip down those mirrors!
