I think it's true up to a point because fast food is always cheaper then healthy food but you have to watch for it to go on sale and it'll be worth it in the end...goodluck

Whether you measure it in dollars per calorie or dollars per pound, the sad fact is that junk food is much less expensive than fresh produce and healty alternatives.

I don't know if that's why poor people have such poor eating habits or not. It's certainly a contributing factor.

It's not hard to eat well on a budget, but you have to make a small effort and use some common sense.

It wasn't expensive to eat unhealthy and become obese. Eating healthy and staying slim cost more? Bull feathers!

yes - i think its true - but there are healthy options that are not more expensive.
I have the most healthy eating habits than anybody i know (i know it very well myself and other people also say the same thing) - i spend about $60-100 a week on food just for myself.

i guess if you are deemed unable to work or for some reason you have to be on social assistance, and you only get 200 a month for food and bills, buying fresh fruit and vegetables would be expensive. check how much people are getting. and dont' get into stereo types with welfare assisted people. just look at fact and do the math

Excepting those with real medical issues, poor people are fat for the same reason they are poor. They lack either mental capacity, knowledge, or discipline to make money or proper nutrition choices.

I don't think that's necessarily true. Fruits and vegetables are not that expensive (mostly), and raisin bran is cheap.

That said, the WORST stuff for you is the cheapest: koolaid, plain white bread, chips, etc.
