there is nothing half way up that plate in the back where do i fill it at?? i have the regular ford tranny

A regular ford tranny ?? U filling the rear or Trans--ANYWAY it's on the drivers side where the front part of the rearend[where the drive shaft] intersects with the left housing--It's uses a 3/8" inch Drive extension (short) with a 3/8" inch ratchet..U might have 2 use a pick 2 clean out the dirt out of the plug because it is recessed..IF u don't get all the dirt out U will probably strip the 3/8" square plug.!!

The plug is opened using a 1/2" drive ratchet and extension, no socket on the end.

Near the pass side of the axle.

Look for a pipe plug with a square hole--use a 1/2 inch drive rachet and extension to remove it.

i think on that one there is a plug on the right side of the case < passenger> its not a nut but a square use a half inch extension and a ratchet ..

its on top not in the rear. feel around the top of diff or try to stick your head over it. It may be covered with gunk. wash it off real good and feel around, its there.

it is on the top plate facing the front
