fall off your chair you can have tomorrow off then as well, if your really good, you can swing back aches for at least a month, make it look good.

Not sure if your job comes with paid vacation... mine does, and when we want to have a day off or leave early, we just fill out a form with the hours we want off and drop if on our boss's in-box.
When I worked in retail (and didn't have vacation/sick days) we had a calendar in the back room where you could sign up in advance for the days we wanted off and we just didn't get scheduled for then.
If you're at work and you suddenly need to leave early, then whatever the truth is probably is important enough. For instance, you don't feel well, you need to pick up a sick child, etc.

Emergency dentist appointment, but don't forget to hold your mouth from time to time and slur your speech occasionally cos you are in so much pain.
Next time make it a funeral - if you work a 9 to 5 job, then it's at 11.30 so you get the whole day!!
If it's short notice, try the truth but if you're planning on going down the pub go with the feeling sick idea

Hey there i know a gr8 excuse tae get af work lol !
What bout this you are of with the gastric bug and wont be able to go to work as you have had a sore tummy for several weeks lol. I know that will work as i tryed that and that worked.! Good luk !

Your neighbour "who knows you have tropical fish" has just rang you to tell you that there's a power cut in your street and you need to get home to sort this problem out IE using the gas kettle you have as back-up for this problem to help keep the fish alive.

always have a person call and pretend to have a family emergency. you can pick anything you like. how about flood damage. start coughing and then throw up. come in with red eyes, they'll send you home thinking you have the cooties
