If the neighbor and I already knew each other well and I could trust her. But I'd have to be facing getting fired before I would leave my sick child with anyone.

Only if I knew that neighbour extremely well and they were friends. Otherwise, no way - I would take the time off work! It would depend how sick my kids were as well - really sick, I would definitely stay home with them as I reckon a mum taking care of you is the thing you want when you are really sick. If they just had a little cough or sniffle or temp, then I would possibly ask a friend or a family member. Still reckon I'd take the time off though.

I would not leave my sick child with a neighbor. Tell are alot of things going on in today society, you never know what can happen to your child while you are away. You may have a good neighbor that may not harm your child, but you have to look at the best interest of the child. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do

If You trust the neighbor with the life of Your child, and if Your sacrifice will improve His/Her quality of life then by all means go for it.

If our life style depended on it... Definately... but only if we really needed the money, if it was just because I wanted to go to work, then in that case I think I'd be a really lousy mother.

Not likely. The news is full of horror stories of set ups like this gone awry.

No, unless you have known your neighbors for a very long long time. But even then you should consider calling in sick.

If you can't take off, and be with your own child, then yes, if I felt I could trust that person.
