True - they have a special tap that you can insert into the fruitcake and extract the rum, leaving the dead husk of the fruitcake behind for the dust bin.

It depends on your initial definition of "fruitcake."

If one defines fruitcake by the recipe which contains rum, then in the end you don't have a fruitcake but something similar to one.
