In my view luck is karma (action) from a different angle. Action arises out of certain causes and conditions, and action is never (or perhaps almost never) the result of only one specific cause.
When we think of karma we normally think only of the causes and conditions that are affected by our own actions, thus thinking the result arises out of our actions alone.
When a result affects us, but had causes and conditions based on a series of other actions flowing from the karma of others, but not affected by our own, this is what we call 'luck'.
I hope this makes sense. I have only been contemplating this for a short time, so I am reserving the right to adjust my view based on future insight. :)

There’s no such thing as luck. What there is, is providence. As Augustine said, when you first consider your life, it looks like nothing but a bunch of chicken tracks in the mud of a barnyard, going this way and that. But through the eyes of faith, we begin to discern pattern, meaning, direction ...Providence.

There's this church billboard by my son's school that I see every morning. It says "Coincidence is simply God's way of being anonymous".
In my mind, I always add "Or, a random series of events that seem to be linked in an unusual or beneficial way"
I'd say the same thing about "luck", too.

Some would say it is getting a Royal Flush on the river card.
It's chance nothing more.

There is no such thing as luck. As the saying goes, "the harder I work, the luckier I get."

Luck doesn't really exist. I do believe in synchronicity and karma, and that is created by each person for themselves.

no, it is not dependent on faith... luck = chance... and chance is the illusion artifact from not comprehending synchronious behavior
