First off recurculate the cold air after the first minute cool down. Make sure the system has the exact amount of oil and R-134 that is on the green sticker under the hood. Make sure there is no oil seeping out of the flexable rubber hoses to the compressor. Now under the radio there is a plastic cover console removed several like 6 screws hold the evaporator cover on you don't have to remove it all the way the thremo sensor red thing pushed into the Evap. cooling fins foward for colder in the evap this might even cause the system to freeze up on long trips and back for slightly warmer air. Window Tint if legal in your area is a good idea use of reflective sunshade keeps the dash and steering wheel from soaking up heat. Washing out the A/C condenser with a garden hose nozzel be carefull high pressure washer might dammage the cooling fins so hold it back at least 6 " Your looking for heat transfer from the inside of the car to the outside. Just guessing adding R134 might over charge the system cause the over pressure switch to turn off the compressor and use to much horsepower to turn the compressor. You got to get the amount right let a professional do the recovery recycle re oil and recharge step. Hope this helps.

You can go to the auto part store and get an AC recharge kit from 20 to 30 dollars. Open your hood and look for an sticker has states the Refrigerant needed. Most of the time the cars take 134a refrigerant. When doing this have your car running when charging the system and use just a little bit just to get the right charge. After you have done this get some soap water and spray around the hoses of the system to check for any leaks because refrigerant doesn't lose it cool only when theres an leak in the system, thrust me I'm an certified HVAC/ R tech,

most ac systems willl only cool a car down to about 60 degrees if their working right,if it gets too cold it freezes the compressor up on it,check it with a thermostat and see how cool its actually getting,it may be possible that its getting low on freon, and that wil cause it to not get as cold, usually a half of a can of freon will put it back up to normal if this is whats wrong with it.but id check it first, good luck with it.

you may have a leak somewhere in the system, i would have it checked for leaks first cause there isnt any other way to make it colder unless your cabin filter behind the glovebox is extremely dirty
