I've been anorexic now for a few years. I didn't realise I was until I was. Fortunately it is not anorexia nervosa (The most common form) but a more subtle form. It works in a similar way to when you play a game for like 12 hours, you've forgotten to eat breakfast, lunch and now its teatime and you’re still not hungry. For those of you reading this that doesn’t understand what this is like I have no better way I can explain it and I am happy that you have never gone through it. For those of you that do know what I mean I hope you don't know it as intimately as I do. I tell you this because anorexia happens when people 'forget' that they're hungry. We can be occupied, busy or ignore the cravings and eventually they disappear. The same is true will all things in life. I have met many people who are intellectually anorexic. Who no longer have the desire to seek the truth about what is going on in the world or in their lives. I have also met people who are spiritually anorexic. This is the most difficult type of anorexia to address as so much of society ignores fundamental questions regarding life, questions that philosophers have been asking for generations. Questions such as why are we here? Where did we come from? Where are we going? And what are we worth? Science seeks out answers to these questions but claims to not partake of this spiritual quest but this is obviously nonsense. So I urge you to not lose the hunger for knowledge that we were born with. To not become intelligently anorexic and to also realise that the hunger you have for spiritual matters is still there, your just busying yourself when you feel the urge. If Atheism is right, then science will prove it, but don't assume that science has already done so. Don't ignore the questions that spirituality asks simply because science does not yet have an answer. And don't assume that what we know today won't change tomorrow, after all at one stage we all thought the Earth was flat.

Yeah bacon and eggs could fill this void I'm feeling!
Wonder if I can survive leaving the computer long enough to cook it!

Amusing question, but the truth is that when you realize that you truly feel Spiritually empty bc of your atheism, remember that God created us with a "God-shaped hole" in our souls. People spend their lives trying to fill this "hole" with material things, wealth, sex, drugs, etc etc, and they will never feel true peace until they recognize that God created them and loves them.
I am not religious- I don't like religion- but I have a personal relationship w/ Jesus Christ and that is what give me peace, no matter what happens in my life.
I pray you'll find that peace someday.

There's nothing like a good meal to cure the emptiness that comes from religion!

If you didn't feel empty when you believed in god, why did you stop?

Most atheists became atheists because religion left them with an empty feeling.
