Hi,

Muhammad Ali broke his jaw in the fight with Ken Norton for the NABF Title on March 31st, 1973. Ali lost a split decision (5 ropunds to 4 for Norton, 6-5 to Ali, and 7-5 to Norton respectively). Ali rebounded from this defeat by beating Norton in a rematch on September 10, 1973.

Thanks for the question.
