Why all the hate - haven't you heard of the word 'freedom'. The guy probablly works hard and feels like he should be rewarded for his hard work. The great thing about our county is that we get to live and work as we please.
You want to puncture his tires? He's a carbo-holic piece of scum? I think you are the one who has some real issues in life, not your neighbor.
And to prove a point - check yourself when you open and read this. I you super mad because I am challenging you on this - that proves my point.
Go get some counseling for your anger management problem - outside of what you feel responsible for doing, you can't change ANYTHING about global warming - read 'State of Fear' by Micheal Criton - that will tell you the real truth about the 'global warming' myths.
And BTW what would you have this carbo-holic piece of scum do? Trade in his BMW for a bycycle? And I suppose why he's at it he might as well get a Mao jacket also.
What happens when you become an environmental-wacko? Do you get a right-brain labotomy that only makes you see green and hate everyone who doesn't think like you?
Well, thank God for freedom. If you don't like it, then live somewhere where you can control every facet of everyones life - like China, or India.

Are you a Carnivore?
He maybe a Vegetarian!
If both of the above are Yes, then his car outputs less CO2 in a 12 Month Period than Your Lunch. If you start talking about Carbon Trading, Things will only get messy!
You don't know the full story and its just like the Fur Coat issue. I'm a Vegetarian, but I wear leather shoes, belt, gloves, coats. Anti Fur Trade Campaigners say that leather is a By-Product of our food chain, but what is my excuse? should someone beat me up to remove my shoes? Should my Car seats not be covered in leather? Should my Sofa not be Leather? Even my Wallet is made of leather!
Incidentally I own an MVP but it is a very low emission model (lower than most small family hatchback cars available) I did have a Mitsi 4x4, but replaced it due to travelling costs, not environmental issues.
Before pointing a finger at 4x4 and MPV owners, people should be looking at owners of Cars and Vans, which are 10years old or over. Many will be Non-Catalyst and Most will be on the Legal Limit for emissions. All new cars come a long way below the Legal Limit and those at the upper end, will be paying higher taxes (particularly if its a company car) for the privilege.

carbo-holic piece of scum? ok, I've got a news flash for you. CO2 is NOT bad for the planet. It doesn't significantly warm the Earth, it is NOT a pollutant, and you should NOT worry about Global Warming. You should read "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming." It is an excellent read, very funny, and very informative. I guarantee that you will not be so disturbed about your neighboor's BMW emisions after reading it.

yea class envy was created to make you feel bad for someone elses hard work and desires that exceed your own. now the "the sky is falling" crowd has linked the class envy with enviromental issues. i suggest you look at real research instead of over hype claims. there are only 38 parts per 100,000 air molecules in the atomsphere. thats the average in the indutrialized nations. and believe it or not most of that is from NATURE. factories and those BMW's (HUMANS) only generate abour 3.5 percent of the 38 parts. so quit the class envy and make yourself a better person and look after your daily needs and wants GOD can take care of the universe including our little bitty earth

Well Mr. Coolio while I commend you for trying to be proactive in saving the planet and our natural resources, you can not take the law into your own hands. Puncturing his tires is not going to achieve anything except to get you into trouble. Now that you have made it publically known that this is what you wanted to do, should something happen to his vehicle you're now going to be the first one the authorities come looking for.

Thecoolioguy: There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with your neighbor. Some people like big cars others like little cars; some of us go to school to get an education, others don't. Some people fall prey to sensationalism, others listen to scientists. It's called choice, and you need to learn to respect it if you want to live in the USA.
Perhaps you have been brainwashed by Utopians who like you are driven by irrational emotion rather than true science. I suggest you seek professional help before you find yourself behind bars.

It's not hate, it's envy. And you know it's a sin to be envious moreso if you are thinking of puncturing the wheels. Why not ask him for a spin, it'll cure your jealousy.

I see you've uncovered the CO2 gimmick for what it really is. An excuse for inadequate, interfering no-hopers to, for one brief moment, feel morally and ethically superior to someone they secretly envy.
This would be irritating if not so sad and pathetic.
Incidentally, increased global temperatures result in increased atmospheric co2 (see ice core studies), not the other way round. But that would hardly suit your selfrighteousness, now would it?

Think yourself lucky that you live in a free country. You can do what you want within the law. So can your neighbour.
By the way, try checking carbon emissions from deforestation.
