I am not sure if she was taken up to heaven alive, but I know for a fact she is in heaven. Muhammad peace be upon him died then went to heaven. Although Jesus peace be upon him weent straight to heaven, although it appeared as if he was being killed the Quran speaks this was only a visual site, but he didn't die he got taken straight to heaven paradise right away.

Thanks and I hope I answered your Question.

A difficult question because one sect (the RCs) believe that Mother Mary was so taken up by tradition while it is not attestable in the Bible. Others who were taken up that way are Elijah and Enoch as given in the Bible apart from Jesus.
But even among the Protestants it is believed the Saints are alive after death and can intercede for us after death........ Jesus also says that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is a God of living and not of the dead ( in the answer to the woman marrying seven brothers). So, what shall we believe? I pray that God guides you in this.

There is no information about Mary in the Bible after the day of Pentecost. I'm sure she went to live with John's family, since Jesus on the cross asked John to look after her. She probably got old and died just like everyone else. Of course she went to Heaven to be in the presence of the Trinity but she had a normal human life, always excepting the "mother of the Saviour" part.

Let me answer your question on the basis of the following:

1- Mary was a normal human, we, Muslims, believe she is and she was the best woman Allah, the only God that exists, has created.

2- Jesus himself is a normal human, the only irregular thing about him, Peace Be Upon Him, is that he was born from only a mother, he has no father, ..................., No, this is not strange, it may be strange for us, humans, but for Allah, it's different, Allah is able to do any thing, his strength, knoledge and ability has no limit, Allah has already created Adam from no mother nor a father.
And regarding the extraordinary things he was able to do, these were miracles like those of any other prophet sent by Allah as a proof that they are sent bu Allah to humanity. Jesus was a prophet, not more.

3- Concept of death must be clarified first as well.
Death means movement to live from this life we know to live another life intermediate between this life and the last one that lasts for ever, in this intermediate life one faces either a very happy life where he lives a place like a heaven till the Judgment Day, or lives a miserable life in someplace like the hell. This applies to every one without exception.

Now regarding your question, Mary has died and moved to live her intermediate life where she lives in ease as she was a good person.

Prophet Mohamed, Peace be upon him, has died and moved to live his intermediate life in ease as he was a good person as well.

I believe Mary though a very special women in God's eyes died like everyone else does and is in Heaven right now. These appearances of the virgin Mary even though they are unique events, I really have to question based ont his fact that it causes those to see or experience this to worship the virgin mary instead of God and others it strengthens there faith in God. I have never witness or seen this type of event. But anything that take away from the God in the since of worship I have to question.

Mary was assumed into heaven. She did not die and there is no grave for her anywhere.

This is not mentioned in the Bible, so fundamentalists will tell you that it is not true. But everything does not need to be mentioned in the Bible. We know from reading the early fathers of the Church that this belief was part of early Christianity. We can also be sure, that if she had died and was buried...the grave of the Mother of God would have been known and visited by the faithful. This would have been in the early writings as well...there would have been a shrine built etc. This has never been the case.

She does appear throughout the world in order to bring about salvation. Her appearances are always to direct and guide people to her son. There is only salvation through Christ. She, as our spiritual mother, cares for us and wants us to be saved through Christ.

Yes Mary was taken into heaven alive. She did not die and that's why there is no tomb of her on earth. The difference between Marry and Jesus is that Jesus ascended by himself as He was Divine and Marry was "taken up to heaven" because she is Mother of God but not Divine. This is a fact according to Theological dogmas and studies and not a myth. please do believe me..

Our Blessed Lady, the Mother of Jesus, we believe as Roman Catholics, when Her time on earth was finished was taken into Heaven. That's what we believe. It is rather disingenuous of other faiths coming on here and belittling our beliefs.

According to Wikipedia it was only in 1950 that Pope Pius12 finally decided this as infallible doctrine of the Catholic Church
