I bought it from a vender that was only in the area for a week. I am absolutly in love with this wine. In the platonic sense of course!

Bonarda is a grape variety, and Dolce means sweet, and Bonarda is grown in Italy and Argentina, but there is an Italian DOC wine classification called Bonarda Dolce so it may be one of these wines (though the actual variety is Croatina).

You don't give a winery name or even the country this wine comes from so it is dificult to tell you where to buy the same wine.

So, unless you have more info, I'd suggest you look first for shops that specializes in Italian wines. There are a lot of producers that make Bonarda Dolce DOC wines.

EDIT - in response to 'Additional Details' update posted by Thereha.

OK, so it is definitely Italian, Oltrepo' Pavese is the region the wine comes from (see http://www.italianmade.com/wines/doc10227.cfm)

You appear to still have the bottle, so the producer details is there somewhere.

Please give every piece of text there is on the label. By EU law the bottler should be shown although it may be a code number. Post everything it says on the label here -- or email me the info via my profile -- and we'll see who makes it.

There are thousands of small wineries in Italy that don't export their wines, or even sell them much further than 50 miles from the winery.

the wine you're looking for seems to be the alcoholic equivalent of the loch ness monster. all i could find on the search engines was how someone couldn't find it. a phony website here, a fleeting mention there.

that and a lot of italian websites that i can only hope to understand one day.

best i can do is point you in the direction of some argentinian vineyards' version of your bonarda.

it may not be the bonarda from your fond memories, but the review for this particular vintage is encouraging

good luck with your search and may i suggest you get an italian speaker to help you out with it.

cheers!
