Photoshop Elements 5.0

If you want to explore the world of Adobe Photoshop without spending the big money for the full product, get Photoshop Elements 5.0. It is a tremendously powerful program and it only sells for $99.00. You can get it at http://www.adobe.com or any of the usual places you buy software.

You can use it practically right out of the box with the "Quick Fix" option and then you can advance into the full program, learning TONS about the Photoshop world as you go. Frankly, I think neither you nor I would ever explore the full capabilities of Photoshop Elements 5.0. If you ever DO think you are ready for more, you will already know much of what you will need to know about "real" Photoshop. They'll undoubtedly have a new and improved version by then. Since Nikon just came out with a totally new image editting package, Adobe will have to step up to the plate.

Just go here http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshopelwin/tryout.html and click "Download Now" for a 30-day free trial.

You can still find Photoshop Elements 4.0 at closeout for about $25-30 on eBay and it's a great program, too.

Many people use Picasa, although I have not. I don't know how powerful it is, but it's free.

Corel Paint Shop Pro is, in my opinion, perfectly good for amateur photographers and can do most of what Photoshop does without all the bells and whistles. Photoshop is really a professional program, and very expensive (contrary to what one answer says). Photoshop Elements is also excellent. There are also two excellent free programs, the Gimp 2.0 available from www.gimp.org which many feel is at least as good as Elements. The other is Google Picasa 2.0 which is very good at organising your pictures, available from www.picasa.google.com

It depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If all you are doing is slight tweaks to photos, then you can just go to Wal-Mart or Circuit City and buy the cheap programs they have there. I received some software when I bought my laptop, and it worked alright, but I'm spoiled and know how to effectively use Photoshop, so I don't use the other programs. However, if you want do more, then I don't know.

hope you know that photshop is the best but understand there are 3 levels of photoshop. you can pay as little as $30 for the basic photoshop to around $100 for photoshop elements. All all are the same but each level has more you can do at more expensive. I like elements more than the full photoshop.

I'm using a program called Pixia at the moment which does the job for me. I'm hesitant to say it's the best because I haven't really used many others. However, as it's freeware you can download it and give it a go, and if you don't like it just uninstall the mother.

I recommand you to use Google Picasa to manage and edit your pictures.

Picasa is software that helps you instantly find, edit and share all the pictures on your PC. Every time you open Picasa, it automatically locates all your pictures (even ones you forgot you had) and sorts them into visual albums organized by date with folder names you will recognize. You can drag and drop to arrange your albums and make labels to create new groups.

Picasa makes sure your pictures are always organized. Picasa also makes advanced editing simple by putting one-click fixes and powerful effects at your fingertips. And Picasa makes it a snap to share your pictures ¨C you can email, print photos at home, make gift CDs, instantly share via Hello™, and even post pictures on your own blog.

free download in here, just have a try:
