I suggest you do your homework with a friend. That way, you can get immediate answers to your questions, or at least understand where your problems lie. Also, focus on what the teacher is telling the class and write down the important points. Later, put them on those 3X5 cards and read them out loud. This way you're listening, looking, writing, and hearing. The more senses you engage in the learning process, the greater will be your success.

I once saw a video and book package available at a reasonable price called,"Where there's a will there's an A". As a teacher, I would highly recommend it. It gives many, many strategies to achieving good grades. Most involve your desire to use your time well and in an organized way. It's like getting homework and study done for free, because you use "dead" time so constructively. It cuts down on the long hours of deadly cramming for exams that really are useless, because you forget everything a few minutes after the test is over. That's not learning. So, see if you can find the package. It'll change your life if you follow the tactics and strategies suggested in it.

Believe in your own ability to learn. Pay attention and make the most of your time in school. It is such a short period of time in relation to the rest of your life.
