The bible is against Divorce unless "Adultry" is comitted, im just curious as to why many are divorcing.

"He answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that He which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." (Matthew 19:4-6).

We must not jump to conclutions about Deu 24: 1-3 and say "Since God allowed divorce in the OT and he doesn't change then we can divorce now"

The NT talks on the subject of divorce:

"Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery"
(Matthew 19:9; see also Matthew 5:31, 32).

This is just one of the many.

This is an easy question. True christians do not get divorces. Only pretenders do. True christians know that it is not allowed. I wonder if there is anyone on this forum who claims to be a christian yet who has been divorced.

Because they believe that god will take care of the marriage, and expect a smooth ride simply because they're christians. Meanwhile those who aren't, know that if you want something, you have to work for it.

There was a study done back in the late 90s, by a christian ministry no less, that found out christians had the most divorces, even more than atheists and agnostics. You can read up about it yourself. You probably heard of it.

To be honest with you, marriage isn't for everyone. I mean think about it, committing oneself to another person is no easy task. Especially when you have diverse personalities and goals that you want to see come to pass. We all want the great love for the rest of our life, but it takes a lot of work to have something so great.

Butterflies eventually fade and it takes a lot of work to keep things going after that happens. Besides its something that must be worked at each and every day. I guess after a while people just give up. It can be done if you both want it, but its not the easiest path to take, I think, and you have to be a mature person for that. What you see on the movie screen is much different than what you get in real life. I don't even know if I'm capable of such a committment.

Actually, the Torah allowed divorce. Deuteronomy 24:1 states that a man may divorce a woman by writing her "a bill of divorcement" and handing it to her. Jewish law has long recognized divorce as a part of life - the correction of an error made by two ordinary, fallible human beings, rather than something sinful. In the Christian scriptures, Jesus put the stricture forth that a man could only divorce a woman due to adultery/fornication, but was not in keeping with the Jewish law that he supposedly fulfilled. Either Jesus upheld the law and "fulfilled it", or he didn't - you can't have it both ways.

There is a belief in the church that they must conform the rules to society in order to receive the peoples tithe! So divorce became a modern option to many Christians because their own happiness is utmost in their minds!

I believe most people don't really know what a covenant is. Also, holiness, purity, and reverential fear of the Lord aren't being preached in too many places.
You may love someone and still stray but if you have a reverence for them you won't.
