This intimates, 1. What should be done by the justice of men: The wicked, that are the troublers of a land, ought to be punished, for the preventing and turning away of those national judgments which otherwise will be inflicted and in which even the righteous are many times involved. Thus when Achan was stoned he was a ransom for the camp of righteous Israel; and the seven sons of Saul, when they were hanged, were a ransom for the kingdom of righteous David. 2. What is often done by the providence of God: The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked comes in his stead, and so seems as if he were a ransom for him, ch. 11:8. God will rather leave many wicked people to be cut off than abandon his own people. I will give men for thee, Isa. 43:3, 4.

18 The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.

I like to sometimes use the Amplifed Bible because of the extra nuances of meaning that are brought out. Here's how Proverbs 21:18 reads in the Amplified Bible:
18The wicked become a ransom for the [uncompromisingly] righteous, and the treacherous for the upright [because the wicked themselves fall into the traps and pits they have dug for the good].
In other words the traps and snares evil people set for the good they themselves will fall into......

I think that you have to take the verse in the context of the entire chapter (usually a good idea to take things in context, after all). The chapter discusses sort of general outlook of wise persons as opposed to foolish or wicked ones; the thrust of the chapter seems to me to be directed at the fact that a wise man can learn from the missteps of the evil persons around him; this is especially true (as I interpret it) when it comes to evil persons who are in a position of prominence. The specific verse to which you refer simply gives another example of this - that the wicked or faithless are people to whom a good person should look as a NEGATIVE example.

"The wicked is a ransom for the righteous,
And the treacherous is in the place of the upright."
Corresponds to Isaiah 43:3
"For I am the LORD your God,
The Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
I have given Egypt as your ransom,
Cush and Seba in your place. "
also Proverbs 11:8
"The righteous is delivered from trouble,
But the wicked takes his place."
In reference to Christ...
Matthew 20:28
"just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."
Mark 10:45
"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."
1 Timothy 2:5,6
"For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time."
Titus 2:13-14
"....looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds."
2 Corinthians 5:21
He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Great statement! We have identified with the plank as our own, our identity. The plank/identity is carved by tiny ego using fictitious material. Realize that we are not the plank, there is far richer and huge identity given by the Nature, we must be that. The moment we realize that, plank is seen and thrown, we become transparent both within and for the others so that we can see self and others, their eyes, crystal clear.

Wicked people will receive the punishment that they intended to do to righteous people. In other words, if you intend to be mean to someone, expect that the punishment will be given to you instead.

Terrorist teachings are prevalent throughout the qur’an and are a mandatory way of life for muslims.
Judge the following non-contextual q’uran for yourself.
ISLAMIC TERROR – (TRUE OR FALSE?).
Qur’an 8:60 “Infidels (non-muslims) should not think that they can get away from us. Prepare against them whatever arms and weaponry you can muster so that you may terrorize them.”
Bukhari:V4B52N260 “The Prophet said, ‘If a Muslim discards his religion, kill him!’”
Qur’an 5:51 “Believers, take not Jews and Christians for your friends.”
Bukhari [4:52:177]: Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. "O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him!"
Bukhari, V1B4N234: "A group of people from the Oreyneh and Oqayelh tribes came to the prophet to embrace Islam, the prophet advised them to drink the urine of the camels. Later on when they killed the prophet's shepherd, the prophet seized them, gouged out their eyes, cut their hands and legs, and left them thirsty in the desert to die."
When a Muslim declares that Islam is a religion of peace, he/she is either ignorant of the Koran (Qur'an), or is deceitfully thinking of this "peace", as it extends only to those within the Muslim Community. The deceit is that they will not tell you exactly what they mean. According to the Qur'an: "Muhammad is the Apostle of Allah. Those who follow him are merciful to one another, but ruthless to unbelievers" Sura 48:29. "Kill the Mushrikun (unbelievers) wherever you find them, and capture them and besiege them, and lie in wait for them in each and every ambush..." Sura 9:5. Also see Sura 9:29
SEX AND MORE SEX (SEXUAL PERVERSION BY ISLAM’S FOUNDER)
Sahih Bukhari Volume 5, Book 59 Number 459 - "I entered the Mosque, saw Abu, sat beside him and asked about sex. Abu Said said, 'We went out with Allah's Apostle and we received female slaves from among the captives. We desired women and we loved to do coitus interruptus.'"
Muhammad had sex with a BIOlogicially underaged girl of 9 years old when he was past 53 yrs old.
Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 64 -Narrated 'Aisha: that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he had sex with her when she was nine years old.
APOSTATE (A Spokesman for the Devil - MUHAMMAD)
Ishaq:166 “‘You have recited to the people that which I did not bring to you from Allah, and you have said that which He did not say to you.' The Messenger (Muhammad) was grieved and feared Allah greatly.
DEFILEMENT (Sex first before returning to husband)
Islam - Bukhari Volume 7, 63, Number 187:: A man divorced his wife thrice (by expressing his decision to divorce her thrice), then she married another man who also divorced her. The Prophet was asked if she could legally marry the first husband (or not). The Prophet replied, "No, she cannot marry the first husband unless the second husband has had sex with her, just as the first husband had done."
INCEST (Sex with own daughter-in-law - MUHAMMAD)
The following happened after Muhammad by chance saw his daughter-in-law getting dressed and nearly naked and overcome by lusts for her, allah said the following (or so Muhammad claimed):
Q’uran 33:37 - Then when Zaid had dissolved (his marriage) with her, with the necessary (formality), We joined her in marriage to thee: in order that (in future) there may be no difficulty to the Believers in (the matter of) marriage with the wives of their sons, when the latter have dissolved with the necessary (formality) (their marriage) with them. And Allah's command must be fulfilled.
