The CO2 emissions surrounding this hyped event ,was probably what 10,000 people would have contributed to in a WHOLE YEAR. Right from the jetset travel, escort fighters ,and right upto the protective barricades set up for the leaders ,the CO2 emissions have been humungous.

Did the world leaders ever realise this ? Or is it that they believe, that all the hotair spewed at the summit would neutralise the emissions?

Al Gore - Sir ,where were you when the carbon DIE oxides were emitted ?

If your figures are correct and the CO2 emissions are the equivalent of 10,000 people then that's the same as 44,615 tons of CO2 emissions. But it's worth putting it into context and take account of the objectives of the summit.

Compared to what the world as a whole emits each year the emissions from the summit are minute - less than half a millionth of the total emissions.

If the summit leads to just a 1% cut in CO2 emissions it will 'pay for itself' 6,500 times over each year.

We don't have to stop doing things to reduce global warming. We can still drive cars, go to soccer games, have international conferences, etc.

We just have to do them smarter and more efficiently.
