NO!! only use ATF+4. this trans fluid is the child to atf+3, which was originally in your car. much better, and synthetic. it is kind of expensive, but not too bad. if you do but the dot stuff in it, just leave the car on the side of the road, your repair costs after doing that will outway the value of your car forsure. also, do not use the mercon/dexron crap, only for ford and GM vehicles, and that stuff sucks. what i did was flushed my Chevy S10's trans and put in atf+4, ,worked much better.

If you have automatic transmission it will take ATF+4, It has replaced all of the automatic transmission fluid from previous yrs. Go to your local Dodge dealership and ask the parts department for it. I can't think of the part number off hand, if I was at work I would give you the part# and the price.
The mopar part # for ATF+4 is #5013457AA it sells for about $7.00 a qrt.

For your dodge neon, i recommend using ATF+3 transmission fluid. mainly cause that it's an automatic transmission fluid designed specifically for automatic transmissions and transaxles used in Chrysler vehicles.
You can also use ATF+4, it's a bit better but more expensive.

IF U don't want 2 replace your radiator then put an external Transmission cooler on in front of your Radiator,IF U have room & they make one big enough. They cool better because they don't have the HOT water & an anti-freeze 2 heat up the fluid!
