"Urinating while standing has been considered by some scholars as makruh or undesirable simply because of the fact that doing so may cause urine to splash on our body or clothes. you should therefore avoid it unless you are faced with a situation where you have no other choice: for instance, while using a public washroom, if there is a concern of exposing yourself to communicable diseases if u were to do so while sitting on the toilet.
If you happen to pass urine while standing because of certain unavoidable circumstances, you must make sure that urine does not splash on your body or clothes. If it does, you must wash yourself clean before u are eligible to perform prayer."
"The Sunnah is to answer the call of nature sitting, making oneself close to the ground, because this is more concealing, and makes it less likely that spray from one's urine will come back on one’s body or clothes, making them dirty. If a person can be sure of avoiding this, then it is permissible to urinate standing up."

No, there are no authentic hadiths that prohibit a Muslim man from urinating while standing. The hadith which says: "Do not believe whoever told you that the Messenger of Allah has ever urinated while standing" is overruled by the hadith that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) urinated while standing. Though this story is an exception, it shows that it is permissible, because Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) would never commit a prohibited act.
The great hadith scholar: Imam Nawawi; after gathering the hadiths regarding this issue stated: "Urinating while standing is permissible, but to do so while squatting is better for me."
This is because there is a rish that some drops of urine (which is unclean) may reach your clothes if you urinate while standing, but if you're able to make sure that no urine will reach your clothes, then there's no problem at all.
BTW, I myself do not feel comfortable when I urinate while standing; as I haven't been used to this habit.

Nothing is omitted in the books of Islam. Everyday life... How to eat, how to sleep and so on. Amoung its good teachings is to sit and urinate. As that was the way Prophet is seen doing mostly. Islam asks us to be clean internally and externally. one should not get impurities into clothes as we should be clean while standing before God. However it is permitted to stand and urinate if one feels that is confort to him for his own reasons and not a sin. But sitting is preferred.

Question:
Is it permissible for a man to urinate standing up, knowing that nothing will get on his body or clothes?.
Answer:
Praise be to Allaah.
There is nothing wrong with urinating standing up, especially when there is a need to do so, if the place is covered and no one will see the ‘awrah of the one who is urinating and no drops of urine will get on him, because it was narrated from Hudhayfah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) went to the garden of some people and urinated standing up. (Saheeh, agreed upon). But it is better to urinate sitting down, because this is what the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) usually did, and it is more effective in covering the ‘awrah and less likely to result in any drops of urine getting on him.
