Global warming?

With all the doomsday stories being told now..How come...
The is so much division over whether global warming is: ! occuring at all 2) Due to our emissions.

Why do we not have any hard science that says one way or another that "this is happening" and "this is why". It seems to have become a typical republican vs democrat thing which really disgusts me. Can't we set our politics aside for the good of the planet we all share for once???

Re: Nevada. A cold day in summer or even a cold week in summer does not disprove the theory lol. I just think its scary that we are so politically motivated that we are more focused on left vs right than if whether global warming might have some validity.

And reread if you will. I'm not stating that it isnt happening. I'm asking why it seems to be so politically motivated, and that its a shame that most ppl have such hardened beliefs about it, yet have maybe an ounce or less of scientific knowledge to back themselves up.

The scientific consensus is here, and has been here for a decade or more: Global warming IS happening, and we ARE causing it.

Sadly, a number of Republicans would rather kill the planet than entertain the idea that Democrats might actually be right on anything.

I think most agree that global warming is happening. Scientists say on both sides that we have heated up about 7/10ths of one percent in the last 100 years. The argument is weather man is causing it or is it a nature thing. I'm sorry but I just don't buy into the theory that man is powerful enough to kill this planet in the next 100 years if we don't drastically change our ways. things like volcano's when they erupt put more c02 in the atmosphere then man has in ten years on average. Yet after a few days or a week guess what the atmosphere is clear again. Because the earth is a marvelous creation and has a built in cleaning system. Al gore's movie was shown to have many false statements and rigged visual effects to scare us even more. He really bothers me I don't know how he can continue this charade maybe it has to do with the reported over 11 million dollars he has made so far from the movie and book. Some of the scientists that go along with him are relient on government money to survive and one of the best ways to keep the money coming is to play on peoples emotions and the gloom and doom story makes it seem like it is a very important thing for them to continue with. NASA came out with some interesting info not too long ago. they say that since they have been able to take the temprature on mars they detirmined that mars is heating up at the same speed as the earth is. And last time I looked I didn't see any big gas hog suv's runing around that planet. Could this coinsidence be answered by looking at our biggest sorce of heat? the sun? that factor is the only thing both planets have in common except for belonging to the same solar system. I didn't try to bring any politics into this discussion by mentioning Al Gore but he is certainly a main player in the doom and gloom fairy tale. I say he is a hypocrite not doing what he preaches to us to do. One of his mansions in Tennessee uses more energy in a month then the average famly uses is a year. I could go on and on but have already probably bored you enough lol

Oh, wow, Al Gore and several other thousand democrats would cheer for this question right about now. "Global warming is ruining us, coastlines will be flooded and we will all die! Let's start driving hybrids and using solar panels and we will all be safe!"

Global warming is one of the dumbest, stupidest, and ridiculous theories out there. Oh no, the temperature is raising. I'm sure our climate has never gone through changes in temperature before, this must be the first time..........NOT!

It's stupid to assume that just because the temperatures have gone up a bit that the Earth is going into a "global warming." Our climate has gone through changes before, it's stupid and ignorant to assume that it is the issue now. And the do you know how much the temperature has raised (According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change)? .6 degrees Celsius OVER THE LAST CENTURY. That is so significant, isn't it? I don't think so either.

And this slight SLIGHT raise in temp isn't our fault at all. Half of the global warming of the last century has happened between 1900 and 1945. If it was our fault, it would have happened more recently, seeing as we have been burning more fuel more recently.

So don't buy into the crap about how global warming will wreck us, it's all a bunch of stupid political garbage.

The data is not behind it . The data that has been put out is just wrong . Look at CO2 yes we have generated a tremendous amount. The thing that gets me is GOD put plants here to take care of that. Even if we produce too much CO2 for the plants to take care of. The plants will increase in size to take care of the next batch. CO2 is not causing global warming . Then methane is a very light gas so how did they measure the number they got. Methane is a very light gas and is possible 50 miles up. But it is not there either. So the global warming is all a scam.

Global warming may be occuring, albiet slightly, but humans have a pretty big ego if they think they are the sole cause of it. Earth is coming out of an ice age, and so the planet is warming. It happens! Polititions will say anything to be heard, and so will scientists funded by polotitions. its pretty simple. Mabye the only global warming is from all the hot air from Washington D.C.

There is a great book by Michael Chrichton (Jurrasic Park, Timeline, E.R., ect.) about global warming called State of Fear. I reccomend reading it, and reading his bibliography. He put a lot or research into it, and developed his own conclusions without someone backing him financially.

Global warming is not real. It is what the people who want to destroy the US Constitution say to scare the weak minded and the gullible into giving up their freedom.

If global warming were happening, it wouldn't be snowing in Nevada like it was on June 6, 2007. There was about 3 inches of snow on Interstate 80 east of Carlin, Nevada. Nevada DOT had snowplows out plowing the freeway at noon. Check it out, this is documented.

I don't know about you, but snow in June in Nevada doesn't strike me as being particularly warm.

Mass exstinction of Flora and fauna ,many animals are becoming sick because of SMALL changes in temperature .
Insects are affected and some are going out of control such as the parasites that are killing the bees.
Vital links in the food chains are disapearing affecting other species further along in the chain.

Global warming is a very complex collection of many effects

This text only covers some aspects of global warming mainly man made desertification
Industrial contamination ,the contaminating effects of the cities ,is another story

There are natural cycles in the planets life
but mans existance has its effects,and this is increasing with overpopulation,putting strains on Natural resources and increasing contaminations as well as destructions of essential componants the ensure living conditions for all life forms.

In North Africa,India,Mexico ,millions of people are effected by land loss and desertification and some have died as a result.

In china, thousands of what used to be farmers are running for their lives from the dust storms, that have burried their towns and turned their lands into dessert.

The Sahara is growing by 7 kilometers a year
and many of the desserts we know are a results of mans actions ,and they are increasing ,in the dinosaurs days ,there were very few desserts.

Collectively this planet´s arable lands are drying up because of bad farming practices like,over grazing and fertilizers,

Each degree rise in temperature means 10%crop loss

There is less and less water (because of deforestation),to irrigate this production ,
and there are less and less farmers to do it..

Each year 70 million more people have to eat and drink and wash

Farmers are plowing more and more unstable lands because they have lost so many million hectares to desertification ,because of bad farming practises ,such as using fertilizers and heavy machinary , over grazing, overpumping deep carbon aquifiers.

RISING SEAS
The northpole is melting ,and we will know it without ice in our life times.
This does not affect the sea level because it is ice that is already in the water.

The melting ice from Green land and the south pole ,are another matter.
