Some of it may be money, but from my experience there is a reason people see fake doctors. Word of mouth will bring in more business than any paid advertisment could hope. With the prescription pain medicine area under intense scrutiny, many people need a quick and reusable source because diversion has been drastically cut (though nowhere near stopping it.) People hear that so-and-so is seeing whomever, and it grows exponentially. They have the control, give me what I want or you're through playing Dr. I am sure that many people don't know he/ she is a fake, they either heard about the price or the benefits. Hang in there, your competition can't last forever. If you run a good business, offer reasonable fees, payment plans, treat your patients like you treat your family and friends, and do the other things a solid business would, you will keep a much larger dot on the map than your accross town rival, and you'll still be doing what you love while the other is giving medical advice to his new friends that are serving 25 years to Life. A good Doctor is hard to find, a trustworthy one is even harder. Do what you do best and you will have nothing but success.

There is no shortfall with in u
In our society people runs after the glaze, may be the chambers of the fake doctors are more decorative, may be they have better connections with various diagnostic laboratories. May the fees charged by them is less.
We the poor patients are for quick result and not concerned with qualification and degree, besides they are doing practise much more time than you,
So do not get dishearten.
Time will come for you too.
All the best.

There are three important things in practice.
Location, location, location
It also seems to me that you are careless in what you do. There is nothing like a " fack docto ", it should be " fake doctor ". If you make such mistakes in diagnosis and treatment, nobody will come to you a second time !

This is the ignorance of the people who really don't know the difference between a Quake (fake)and a genuine doctor. We should educate the people first. This problem persists everywhere. Its been only 5yrs. of your practise, still a long way to go. Wish you all the best doc.

I would say make the signage for your practice bigger and better if you can. Personality will play a big part in this type of situation. This other fellow is obviously slimy enough to fool people - is there no regulatory authority you can report him to?

as a doctor u should have a good communication skill
u should be in a position to comfort ur pt ,however they behave
u should have a good sense of humour ,it will really de-stress both the pt and urslf
do u have good contacts with the people around ur clinic????
if not better start communicating, listen to them once in a while, try to give inputs in their daily activities, that way u will be accepted well
always have OTC drugs with u and along with ur prescription try giving them to the pts ,they feel very happy!!!
run ur clinic on holidays also!!!!!
try opening the clinic before the quack opens, and close it after he closes!!!!
all the best

Please refer to my answer to one of your previous questions. Is there a racial bias where you practice? Also from your wording and spelling, you may have communication issues. Perhaps some remediation in American English conversation, assuming you practice in the USA.

Your poor skills in English could have something to do with it (if you even are a real doctor, which I strongly doubt).
