Over-current means there's too much current on the output, not the input. It is usually caused by a speaker impedance that's too low. I suspect your amplifier is a 2-channel model, and it's bridged and running two subs. If so, try wiring one sub to each channel instead of bridging the amp.

Otherwise you may have a blown speaker, a shorted speaker wire, or you may need to change the way your speakers are wired.

You can't make less power go to the amp, you can make the amp pull or draw less power by turning the amp down, but if the over current light is all ways on the first guy could be right, or you could be shorting out the amp check all the wires going to the amp make sure that the remote wire and the power wire are not shorting out on the body of the car. good luck

what im guessing is that the system plays for a while then the over current light comes on and shuts off the sub,if this is the problem its because the ohm load of the speakers is to low.you are probably presenting a 1 ohm load to the amp and thats why its putting out to much power, configure the wiring on the sub to 4 ohm and then you shouldent have a problem

make sure no wires are touching... all fuses are good.... but it could be that your amp is not powerful enough for the subs or your wires to the sub could be too skinny
