I see this many times and wonder if they would be better served by saying I don't know or something along those lines because it really does make you look foolish

Sometimes people do not want to take the time to look up an answer or to take the time in typing an answer. Some christians think this is a resort and there is no one here worth sharing their faith to. There are many reasons, I could go on and on. I am a Christian and do not just type a bunch of junk for an answer, I give it thought and answer from my heart. I do not think there are stupid questions, I think there are innapropriate ones that are very immature. The God I love and serve is coming back, faster than we think and he will redeem his people, we will be leaving this horrid place, for I have a room prepared for me because he loves me that much!!

coming from a clown saying it makes you look foolish haha, common man! You should be intelligent enough to answer your own question, and I'm actually being serious! I'm sure there are Christians that get flustered with a question they can't answer so they use a bad technique where they attack the question. But this is not for all Christians nor is it only for Christians. Everyone does this at some point. Please learn to be a little nicer Mr. Clown.

No what is truly more foolish is a stupid question when the asker does know better but are only trying to belittle God or His people. May God Bless U.

It seems to me that many people here are more interested in getting their two points for "answering" a question than to really think thru a question and try to answer it.
It also shows the lack of respect for other people on this site, plus their immaturity.
If I can't answer a question I take it with me and think about it for awhile and then seek to answer it. If I can't come up with any answer, then I just don't answer the question.
I believe it's better to say nothing, than so say anything unkind.

I don't believe that this type of response is limited to any particular faith or the faithless. Actually, my experience has been that people of faith, Christian and others, tend to be more respectful and open. This is because you have to be willing to learn when you walk in faith. Then again, some people are just jerks and think that they know everything.

Not all of them are christians. If I berate you when you ask a question, even if your motives in asking are obvious, then I would be behaving like many atheists i have seen here.

and you don't think asking pointless questions like this don't make you look stupid to us?
Maybe they just refuse to answer such a pointless question, sort of like how you refuse to believe the truth.
