It's much higher than that... it's more like around 50 percent of Americans believe creationism.

Oh, and I don't have faith in evolution... evolution just IS. Evolution has been proven to be as factual as we know... at least there is evidence for evolution as opposed to the bible, which is basically hearsay and would never be admitted in a court of law.

I, being in the 20 percent, am not surprised because polls have shown that 90% or so Americans believe in a higher being. I reject evolution because it's stupid. Anyone with half a mind and a little common sense can see that the theory of evolution should have never left the hypothesis stage. Just to be fair, I think that both theories, the Intelligent Design theory and the Evolution theory, should be taught in schools. Give the kids a choice for a change.

How can you NOT reject evolution?

well maybe not necessarily reject the idea,i believe pll do know that evolution actually exist(who wouldn't know,u hear it 24/7 in science in evry school)and admit that its happening but they just reject the idea(me included) that we came from apes.U make it sound like its a laughable farfetch idea for ppl to believe that a greater power created us,but how different is that from believing in science which states that it all started with a bigbang, that life began cause coinsitantly somehow out of the blue after years of nothing(how could therebe nothing) something caused a big bang that created and resulted in all that we know.
The real question is how can 80% still believe we came from apes and not believe in god in 2007,lol

Well, I know there are a lot of people out there who still believe in creationism, but %20? That can't be true.

I don't think it is just 20%. There should be more. More like the majority believing in creationism. There are more people believing that god created everything and stuff like that. I don't.

It gets even worse, check out: http://www.theonion.com/content/node/28937 (Hah!)

69% of Americans believe in Angels & 32% claim they’ve had contact w/ them.

Here's another question I've been pondering -- what is all this **** about angels? Have you heard this? Three out of four people believe in angels. Are you ******* stupid? Has everybody lost their mind? You know what I think it is? I think it's a massive, collective, psychotic chemical flashback for all the drugs smoked, swallowed, shot, and absorbed rectally by all Americans from 1960 to 1990. Thirty years of street drugs will get you some ******* angels, my friend!

Ok, Evolution is a "theory" The Holy Bible is a "Fact". If people will believe lies before the truth then... all i can say is i pray they find the truth, and soon!

P.S. If you believe things are created through evolution. Then who created evolution. Or did IT just magically appear as well?

If you check out the BS that they are teaching about evolution, you would realize that their THEORIES have never been proven. Actually they have been proven wrong numerous times but ingorance still passes the lies along. And there is no way that 80% of the "people" you refer to are that misled.

If you believe in macroevolution in which one organism evolves into a completely different organism, there should be tons of transitional fossils. There are only a small number of disputable ones. When you observe changes in living things, they support Creation.

Some people also believe in vampires. Not of the bat variety, but of the Dracula variety. Some people believe that the U.S. was created as a christian nation (and that didn't happen millions of years ago). Some people believe in "angels" and "demons."

It's said that humans use only ten percent of their brains. I think that, in some cases, that's a gross exaggeration.
