The following would stop you from seeing the Toronto Skyline even if you have very powerful eyes, a camera, binoculars or a telescope:
1. The height of the buildings in Vancouver will stop you from seeing the Toronto Skyline.
2. The Rocky Mountains would stop you from seeing the Toronto Skyline.
3. Geographic orientation would stop you from seeing the Toronto Skyline. Toronto is below the 49th parallel.
4. The Canadian Shield would stop you from seeing the Toronto Skyline.
And last but not least:
5. The smog in Toronto would stop you from seeing the Toronto Skyline.

Your flight is from Vancouver to Toronto. These are two Canadian cities, and there is no stop in another country along the way. Hence it is considered a DOMESTIC flight. For domestic flights, you do not need a passport, but you do need to have some form of official government ID with photo. A driver's license or heath card will usually qualify. The airlines want to make sure that whoever the ticket is made out to is also the person boarding the plane. And while your flight may fly over US airspace at some point along the way (For example, leaving Vancouver, flights go out over the bay and then turn counter-clockwise, briefly flying over Washington state) you never actually set foot on American soil.

You could have asked this question yourself by thinking a moment. Can anyone see Chicago from Seattle? Can anyone in Los Angeles see Dallas or Houston? To save yourself embarrassment in the future, check out yahoo maps and see the distance between any two destinations or seek a good atlas at the library.
No, you cannot see the Toronto Skyline from Vancouver. Some days, people in Toronto can't even see their own skyline because of smoggy conditions!

"5. The smog in Toronto would stop you from seeing the Toronto Skyline. "
Haha, no kidding. I live in a pretty tall building close to the shores of lake ontario and on a clear day I can see the skydome and the CN tower clear as anything. But in the heat of the summer forget it, there's so much damn smog that you can't see anything.

It's just over 2000 miles from Vancouver to Toronto. You'll need a VERY strong camera.
Through a mirage? Well, when you smoke those little funny cigarettes of yours, you can see anything.
WHAT A STUPID QUESTION!

We can see it on TV or over the Internet.
But we cant even see as far as the Rockies. AND if we could see as far as the Rockies, that is what would be blocking the view of Toronto.
