Is it just to place the blame so they don't have to take ownership of their life choices?

some just have to place the blame some where, look at the insurance industry, and their act of God clauses.
the interesting thing is the same people do not give God the credit when good things happen.

because 'the higher being' wants you to understand yourself and others. before your judgement after this dimension, you're in heaven or whatever you'll understand yourself better as to how did you handled yourself in situtation(of the displeasure of things not going his/her way)? they intuitly blame it on the being because well nothing lasts forever and with the knowledge of that path, they will have compassion and act like human beings for those on the same one that they have traveled. you'll probably learn something along the way.

life is like a tree. you got decisions to make. which branch will you choose?

Yes, that is exactly what it is. This is similar to the AA philosophy of saying that one has a "disease" and needs to surrender to a higher "power" in order to correct it. No, you don't. You have to admit power and take control, for freakin' once in your life. Besides the fact that there is no God at'all (lord help me), people are wont to admit responsibility.

Yes. They want to blame there problems on other factors. The funny thing is when you do this...... Your problems don't go away they just get worse. If you blame your self you can work on fixing them.

It's probably for the fact that they do Identify that there is a God and when they make bad choices they know they are being judged for the bad decisions they make.

That shows our tremendous belief that it is God's grace when we have more of material and fame. Obviously when we don't have these we feel that we are let down by God.

And that easily explains that we don't love God, instead we love this world only and our materialistic desires and possessions.

God asks us to love Him only ( He being eternal, like we are also ), while doing duties to this world. Happiness will come automatically then.

It's just like when I blame the chair when I stub my toe on it. It was clearly my fault, but I don't want to look like the one who caused the problem. Same reason people blame God. They don't want to take responsibility, so they place it on Him.

It's easier than accepting responsibility for personal choices and the consequences thereof.

What I find even more pathetic is CREDITING imaginary friends for a good stroke of luck or, worse still, something your own hard work as accomplished.
