The Bible specifically allows for it. The only "rule" written about it is that it's wrong to marry two sisters since they'll compete for attention.

Nearly every Biblical patriarch was a polygamist. God blessed them and multiplied their children because of it. Some of them were even commanded by God to take more wives.

Is polygamy a sin if the Bible endorses it and there's not a single verse in the Bible that condemns it?

To J:

Adultery is having sex without marriage.
Polygamy is marrying to woman at the same time.

It doesn't. It also doesn't say that slavery is wrong..only slavery of Jews is wrong. That's why Christians have to pick and choose what they want to follow and ignore the rest.

J was confused, he thinks polygamy is adultery. but it is not when you legally and spiritually marry a second wife. the bible didnt say you cant marry more than one. the 32 bible scholars of the highest eminence backed by 50 cooperating denominations decided the rule for the christians. it's weird becos they changed their own law. did god tell them to? lol. lol. lol.

I don't know. I would have to assume that it was written in the New Testament..however I am not familiar with it and am to tired to look it up tonight. Some of Paul's writings in particular seem to (in my opinion) go beyond what Christ taught...at least according to the Gospels.

Didn't guys like Solomon and David have scads of wives? Maybe all that changed after Noah hit dry land....

Frankly, I'd prefer to be one of a dozen husbands, this would cut down on the florist bill.....

before, polygamy was allowed. probably because there were not much people back then and the people needed to multiply. but now, having many wives is prohibited. one reason is it can cause you to sin. solomon had many wives, which pushed him to sin- how? he had given in to his wives' pagan beliefs.

and if you study the ten commandments thoroughly, you will find that it is implied there.

Keep reading. Get a concordance and look up marriage. It will tell you all the verses on it. Your ignorance is showing.
