I live in Georgia and it gets really hot down here. Right now I'm sitting in my room with the door closed, windows open and a fan going on high and it's sweltering! I'm drinking this huge glass of ice water too.
I can't open the door cuz I stay up til late with the lights on and my fan is really noisy and everyone else is asleep.
Also I have this paranoia about people watching me in my sleep so I couldn't open the door when I go to bed anyway.
Does anyone know how I can keep cool?.....without getting naked! (I'm waaay ahead of you pervs out there)

Here is something to try, many people think a fan blowing on them is the best way to stay cool. in fact it is the worse way. air must travel in a continuous motion forcing hot air out and allowing cool air or fresh air in. This works best if you have windows on two separate walls of your room. and being that you said windows I will assume that you do.
Place your fan blowing out of the window forcing the warm air to escape and not toss about the room. Yes I know it feels cool blowing on the skin but it will work better after a very short time as air in leaving your room new air is being replaced through the other window. This is called fresh air flow which will regulate the warm air that gets trapped close to your ceiling as we all know heat rises. This heat will heat up the area temperature of your room what you want to do is cool it down and not just cool your little area about your person.
Keep your hands and forearms uncovered and your feet to the bottom of your calves uncovered as temperature arteries that control your body temperature are there. allow upto an hour for your room to cool.

Hi there, is the air conditioner broken or is there not one at all? I would suggest buying an wall/window AC unit if you have a bit of extra cash, they work really well. If you don't have enough for an AC unit, I guess you could try a really high powered fan. Good luck, I know the heat out here was killer today!

Due to your paranoia you should admit yourself to an air conditioned sanitarium.
During the warm time of the year I try to get a job on the night shift. Or work in an ice cream plant.

Stay hydrated, and then you can apply active cooling methods-icepacks to the groin, armpits and neck. Make sure that you keep your electrolytes up (Gatorade is a good source)!

Turn on the air-cons to the lowest temperature, its really cooling to turn it down to the lowest temp. But take note that your air-con must be one that is able to give out really cold air.
cause some gives out only winds
