it's happening a lot where ppl who have american flags, red, white & blue ribbons, yellow ribbons, those 'support our troops' magnets and the star magnets (the ones that show you have someone in the service) on their mailboxes or houses are being targeted by ppl throwing eggs, toilet paper, rocks, etc. this happened to my neighbor who is battling cancer and her son is in the army as a medicm, she was very upset because they came on her property and she's worried they will come back and do more damage she can't afford or hurt her. the police told her they are seeing an increase in these attacks, all other houses are left alone. has anyone else heard of this? really it's one thing to have your personal beliefs so far as the war, bush etc. but the soldiers have to do what they are told and the families are suffering enough without ppl harassing them.

i agree with you all, this poor woman just found out she had breast cancer and was going to her first chemo when she saw what was done to her mailbox and the flag for her son. i felt so bad for her and the cops said they couldn't do anything. why do ppl think this kind of meanness is ok? they are just trying to strike out at bush or whoever but hurting innocent ppl. really sad.

i wanted to add that i am sure the ppl who did this didn't know the woman had cancer but it just goes to show you that you don't know what kind of stress ppl have in their private lives.

three-suspensions...there wasn't a news story done, it happened to my neighbor here in atlanta. when she called the cops took a report and told her there was nothing they could do unless she caught the ppl doing it.

if you are asking me to verify it by giving you her address or a copy of the police report i won't do it, she has enough to deal with right now.

I've heard of it. It's no different than if it were a black family in the South decades ago. Targeted, terrorized, threatened, harmed, vandalized because of who they are. Some in the military are treated the same way.

Disgusting behavior.

i've heard of it and can't stand it. when i see the american flag fly properly, i would smile and is proud. there is no reason that a person should vandalize anothers property. if it's a grown up, that person should know better than to do that and set an example for the younger ones. if it's a kid, they need to be taught to respect other people. if it happens to me, i'll get the biggest flag that i can get my hands on and fly that thing high. there is also this thing with protesters at funerals of soldiers and vets. there is a way and time and place to express opinions. these are not right.

I am sure it probably happens, but I suspect the majority are kids! I just cant see adults doing these kind of things!

As much as I am against the war, I feel as strongly for our troops. They didn't decide to invade Iraq! They also deserve the best from the American people, which hasn't happened for over 60 years!

It doesn't happen here, at least I have never even heard of it until your post, though I was aware of people showing up at military burials. I don't condone that either!

One has to question how the research was actually done in the first place as well. I agree with you 100 percent your arguments is sound. I don't understand why this study is being used as an example of superiority but some people actually believe this to be true so it reinforces their ideals.

I haven't heard of such things and I am glad. It amazes me that those who are supposedly Anti-war choose to attack other Americans who support their president, their loved ones, or their country. Disagreeing is one thing but taking actions of a terrorist nature are quite another. I hope new laws with new and very severe penalties are enacted to eliminate these idiots illogical effort to bring attention to their quest for peace.

That is deplorable and inexcusable. Most anti-war advocates (such as myself) are not behaving in such a manner. It is only an embarrasing minority who resort to these tactics. Most can separate the troops from the unjust policy which they dutifuly and honorably serve.

Dumb people take on real problems and claim to trumpet them, when in reality, they only use it as an excuse to riot.

Ref: Oakland after the Raiders lose. Why trash your own city people?!
