I'm 17 and want a tattoo of a simple 7-letter name in cursive on my upper arm and I have permission from my parents but will a tattoo shop do it? Also, how much do you think it would cost?

yes, but you have to fill out a form that says that you are getting a tattoo from the shop and that you will take all responsibility in the tattoo aftercare. that you will follow the instructions given to u by the artist and that they are not responsible if u screw it up. then both you and your parent has to sign it. u need to make sure that you bring a picture ID with your age and something that proves that ur parent is actually ur parent

since this is your first tat, you want to do research on tattoo shop sin your area and make sure that u go to the shop with the best reputation. actually talk to ppl who have tattoos and go to google and type in " highest reated tattoo shops" there should be a website where u get to type in your city. dont just go into the shops themselves, because all shops are against one another and will talk crap about everyone else. remember, you get what you pay for so dont just go somewhere because they're cheap.

With parental permission, yes, but only in CERTAIN STATES. I got my first one in Vermont at 16 but my mom had to sign for it. There is usually a minimum fee for any tattoo that will start at between $50 to $70 depending on the parlor, and the price will go up from there depending on size of the tattoo, how intracate the design is, how long it will take, etc. I suggest you pick something out, wait a year, and see if you still want it.

Depends on where you live. I got my first at 16 with consent, and its legal in Minnesota, where I am (I still love my tattoo to this day, I'm 18 now). In some states, it's not legal. You may find a place to do it illegally, but they are most likely subpar and not very clean, so I wouldn't recommend doing it.

I would just suggest being careful of names. They are the most commonly covered up tattoo. Is this the name of your grandma, or your boyfriend? Who is most likely to be a perminent influence on your life?

Cost depends on size and your artist. But make sure you have a couple hundred put away.

If you have parental consent i sure they will but a parent may have to come with you.

Think very carefully about getting a name tattooed on you. Remember it's there FOREVER. I'd never get any ones name tattooed on me.

Also make sure it's something that will look good and you will still like when your 20, 30 40 years old because like I said it's never gonna wash off.

Check the place out before you go there. Make sure they sterilise their equipment and use disposable needles. make sure YOU SEE them take the needles out of sealed sterile packaging. Unsterile needles can pass on hepatitis, aids and cause septicaemia. Check for a certificate of authenticity too.

No because it is illegal. It is an offence to tattoo a person under the age of eighteen except when the tattoo is performed for medical reasons by a duly qualified medical practitioner or by a person working under his/her direction. You cannot obtain a tattoo under the age of 18 - not even with your parents permission!

this should be self-explanitory...

NOT without your parents there to sign for it and for them to be present incase of an emergency situation that may prevail. i got a tattoo with 5 letters and it cost me 60 bucks. they usually say about 10 to 12 dollars a letter or something like that.

You certainly can.........if your parent or guardian is with you...
most reputable places will do it if the they are present.... you can't go with a permission slip........anyone can sign that.......then they are liable.
Just make sure what you want and search around for a good shop.............ask around who got what from where and so on.
They should be clean, sterilizing everything, and a good reputation.
Make sure you study everything......................even to make sure that you want what you are thinking about. There might be other ideas that you might like better.
When customers come to me, I always throw out other ideas
that might help their tat.....maybe something they didn't think of..........if the place you go is worth it, they will spend time with you and help you with your decision. If they don't..............move
on.....................

good luck with your choice...........

as long as your parents are there and concent to it, but some artists still wont until you are 18. Price depends on where you go, and whith tattoos you often get what you pay for. dont go cheap..
