How about Yahweh? Not very sporting of him, was it? I mean, really . . . "Looky! Big shiny tree! Lots of fruit! You'd love it! Don't touch it or I'll KILL you!"
Might as well have put a big ol' neon sign out front, right? It's like lining a McDonald's with bear traps or something.
Here's a mind-bender for you . . . who *really* lied? I mean, c'mon. Adam and Eve got cursed, and evicted, and Yahweh threw a really, really long snit fit about it . . . but they didn't DIE. Not in the "day you eat of it" they didn't . . . not for something like 800 more years, according to the story.
I'd make that trade! Wouldn't you?
And notice what Yahweh said behind their backs, to the rest of the Elohim, or the angels, or whoever he was talking to in that passage? "THEY HAVE BECOME LIKE US, KNOWING GOOD FROM EVIL?"
That's a bad thing? Isn't that EXACTLY what the serpent told Eve? It's sure NOT what Yahweh told Adam, now, IS IT?
So . . . WHO LIED?

Lets see. God allow Satan to trick Eve. God gets mad punishes the serpent by taken its legs. Then continues to punish Adam and Eve. I'm glad our justice system doesn't work like this.

Adam!
He ate as much of the apple as Eve but she (and EVERY woman since) was totally villified because Adam hadn't the sense to say "...now wait a sec, isn't this the one we're NOT supposed to eat?"
So yeah, I would punish Adam for being such a cowardly doorknob and letting Eve take all the blame.

The serpent replaced into devil. he's noted as a Serpent, a Dragon. the father of lies. additionally the "fruit" which Eve did "eat" replaced into not an "apple" nor replaced into it some thing she relatively ate. She then shares with Adam, 9 months later 2 boys are born... One evil, one sturdy. If those of you have comprehend-how of biology.

According to the myth, those three were not enough. Every living thing was "punished," whether they existed at the time or not. "Original sin" is a completely moronic concept -- blaming generations not yet born. It's obvious that the story was written by primitive, superstitious people. That adults actually believe such crap today astounds me.

Too late, they already all got punished big time, plus all of their descendants until the end of time are being punished as well.
And the poor snakes didn't even do anything, it was just Satan in the form of a snake.
Harsh.

God. For punishing human beings for seeking knowledge.
And for forcing Eve to be submissive with labor pain because she ate a piece of fruit. Sounds too Jack the Ripper for me.
