Christians don't believe in it anymore, because Jesus came and now they have the new testament, is that right?

Christians would prefer not to think about how messed up their God is in the Old Testament.

No. Unfortunately many Christians do not have good teachers. I was fortunate to have a good teacher. I learned that the Old Testament was speaking of old covenants that God made with people and humans in general. It was to show how impossible it is to work your way into heaven.
(That's only one reason why Jesus came-- to set us free of the failing attempt to.)

It also shows us how God reacts to things, judges things, and what exactly he wants from us. That is; what impresses him about some of us. ( Those who trust him impress him.)

It gives times and sets them as something to be fulfilled. Some of those have been fulfilled, and some have not yet been fulfilled.

There are many other reasons why it is good for a Christian to know the Old Testament, but all of the Bible states this; God is trustworthy. We can trust Him and by doing so we become separated from this world. (Faith = Trust)

I think any record of God's interactions with people is very valuable if for no other reason than it helps us understand who He is.

The Old Testament is filled with great stories that help teach truth such as the account of Daniel who defied a ruler to obey God, and Job who kept the faith through great trials. It also contains a good deal of information about Jesus Christ and His Atonement, although it can be difficult to understand this without studying the use of symbols.

In our church we spend a whole year studying the Old Testament as part of a 4 year cycle. Each year we focus on a different book of scripture.

The OT is still valid and is used by many Jews, Messianic, and even Christians. In fact, the OT talks about Jesus that many don't know that it does because many just read the NT. It is still read in synagogues, churches, and on Christian radio.

If you read the OT, you will understand who God truly is. It was never done away with, it is still valid and being read in many places. Why is it when you buy a bible that it also includes the OT scriptures and writings?? Are you just going to skip the OT and go to the NT when the OT is there for you to read? I challenge you to read it because you will learn that the OT is where God created everything in the beginning.

No.

See certain laws in the OT were meant for the Jews at the time, and then later were ruled out through Christ and God for the Gentiles. And when we say this, people assume that we cherry pick the ones we want and the ones that we don't want, and some have not enough knowledge to defend themselves and think that they are.

It's not a question on not believing it anymore, but rather that we are now under grace, not law.
2Ti 3:16-17 All Scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfected, thoroughly furnished to every good work.

only partly. If the old testament says something they don't like (like not eating pork) it's too old school; but if they need a justification for hate or bigotry ("smite the heathen hip and thigh" "When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him, he said, 'cursed be Canaan {people of color}! The lowest of slaves will he be to his brothers.") It's the WORD OF GOD.
