if you've seen any of my other answers (for food) you'll know that going into detail is NOT a problem! anyway, i'll only name 5 of my favourite dishes / things to eat.

1. portobello mushroom stuffed ravioli with garlic and basil marinara with a light sprinkle of mozzarella cheese and chile flakes (i hate parmesan by itself, it's too strong for me unless it's baked into breadsticks, then it's lovely). i love the texture and how the meaty flavour of the mushrooms complement the garlicky sauce. the added spiciness from the chile flakes are an added bonus for me because it livens the whole dish by giving it a "kick".

2. chicken tikka masala (boneless, skinless chicken pieces cooked in a rich, creamy indian spiced, tomato-based sauce, with cashews). i usually have this with the spicy onion-chile chutney, the tamarind chutney and the mint chutney with saffron rice. i love to mix it up together because the flavours blend beautifully. and, when i've finished eating any chicken pieces, and have a bit of gravy left i mix it up with the rice- chutney mix. YUMMY!!!

3. it's a tie between avocado eggrolls, sweet corn tamale cakes (when i go to the cheesecake factory) AND the costa rican salad that i ate when i was in costa rica, that my mum has learned to make. ooh, all those avocados...to describe these 3 dishes would be torture. i'd want to have one of them right now! all i can say is, the buttery avocado blends SO well with the chutney or salsa flavours (depending on which dish you have) and the spicy lime-rubbed shrimp...ooh, the shrimp (if you have the costa rican salad)!! with the corn cakes...well, everything just melts onto your palate. the sweet corn, salsa, guacamole and sour cream. undeniably good!

4. 2 very healthy pasta dishes that i make at home with whole grain, high-protein pasta, "drunk" mushrooms (sliced baby portabellos sauteed in a few sprays of EVOO, and simmered in merlot and spices, until the wine reduces), and tomato-basil marinara with roasted garlic. OR the same whole-grain pasta topped with a dollop or two of fromage blanc (0% fat) and fresh scallion, sesame-glazed walnuts, dried cranberries, and a sprinkle of a no-salt seasoning blend. again, the flavours are marvelous. very hearty, VERY filling and perfect with a glass of good wine.

5. i love prosciutto and fresh melon for a very light but satisfying meal. it's nice with a glass of good white wine or sparkling water. i like the way it makes me feel, especially on warm summer nights or before an evening race, if i eat it early enough.

desserts are another category of meal for me...i like anything creamy, chocolatey (though it doesn't have to be), not TOO sweet, infused with fruit (a bonus!). i also like very refreshing desserts too. (some of the desserts i am very fond of are: panna cotta, blood-orange flan, chocolate pots de creme, crepes suzette, chilled peach, strawberry or cherry soup with mint, wine poached pears with fresh mint and freshly whipped cream, chocolate souffle cake, deep dark dense chocolate chili cake, grapefuit granitas, all kinds of ice creams, sorbets, etc.)

for beverages i like: 100% fruit juice (blueberry, concord grape, strawberry, grapefruit, cherry, pomegranate, blackberry, orange, apple, etc). i find them to be VERY refreshing and something that's just as good as water because they do not have any added sugar in them at all. i can drink tall glasses when i'm thirsty and it really quenches my thirst.

of course, i love water. but it has to be pure, filtered, ice cold water. i also like sparkling water, plain or naturally flavoured (poland springs flavours are the most natural)

i LOVE skim milk. enough said.

i love wine (especially a really good, crisp and lightly sweet dessert wine). cocktails abound...i couldn't name all the ones i really like, there are too many! beer is great too (i only have a few favourites like wachusett blueberry beer, raspberry hefeweizen, stella artois and blue moon wheat beer); sometimes a beer is more appropriate than any other beverage.

DRINK:Beer, its the answer when you can't even remember the question.

FOOD: Fish, cooked flash, fish takes on flavours and spices without ruining the natural flavour of the fish.
