I am a Canadian citizen and I am planning to travel for the first time. It will be WITHIN Canada probably by plane. I thought that a passport was not needed but I heard that now it is?

Not for domestic flights, though you will need identification. You only need a passport if you are leaving the country.

No. You need identification with the same name as on your flight ticket, but you only need a passport for international travel.

You do not specifically need a passport but you need equivalent identification, e.g. a driver's license or a provincial identity card. A passport, if you have one, will certainly do.

I've never heard of any regulation like that for traveling within Canada (or the U.S., for that matter). Pack your bags, buy your tickets, and enjoy the trip! :-)
